I know what you mean - at work, we seem to have had an influx of patients (cancer center, and all that), one of my co-workers just lost her dad to prostate cancer, and another co-worker just found out her dad has stage 4 prostate cancer and has *weeks* to live. It's sad b/c of the irony - these co-workers basically specialise in treating prostate cancer, and are basically slapped in the face with ineffectualness.
Rich and I are trying to make the best of the season - we are focusing on things like our birthdays (12/20 & 1/26), and our anniversary. We're really trying not to get any gifts this year, but to take small trips and enjoy our time together.
