Moments to be cherished.

Last night Kat and I sat on the roof and stargazed for about an hour. We chatted about nothing in particular and just enjoyed each others company.

In Derby it is a little hard to see the stars clearly (too much ambient light from the town) and we debated over wether or not we were looking at the North Star or Polaris or the Big or Little Dipper, ect.

Then the most awesome thing happened. As we were both looking in the same spot in the sky, the longest, brightest shooting star appeared. It only lasted for maybe half a second, but it sparked and exploded at the end of its trail. We bothed gasped at the same time. It was an incredible experience to share with each other.

We both just kind of sat there in stunned silence for a few moments then we cuddled some more. Shortly after that the clouds rolled in and obscured all the stars so we decided to go back inside.

It was one of those moments that you hope will never fade from memory. So to help keep that from happening I am posting it in my LJ, and sharing with all of you at the same time. I hope you all can appreciate this story half as much as I appreciate the experience.
