Another Priest in Trouble
Just finished watching the news and guess what, the catholic church has yet another priest in trouble. This time the priest actually raped a 17 year old girl.
I've honestly had enough of this. I mean, people can't think about the catholic church now without thinking of priesthood scandals. Every time I am around my friends and people at work they make jokes like "Michael Jackson should be a preist" or something to that effect.
I can understand that being a priest and being celebate is hard. I mean, c'mon, while I have never had any "relations" it doesn't mean that the urges aren't there. The same holds true for priests. However, the difference between a priest and myself is that the priest ahs made a pact with God in celebacy. He is supposed to be saying that his love for God is so great he does not need to sustain his urge for the flesh.
These allegations do nothing but hurt our church. And people wonder why there is a shortage of priests. Why would anyone want to become a priest, when all of their friends would shun them and look down upon them? I still beleive the priesthood is a noble profession but, if these allegations and other events don't stop I am afraid that the shortage will only continue.
I also beleive that Satan has it out for our church, and all the churches of the world. For some reason ours has always been persecuted. Perhaps that means we must be doing a few things to anger Satan, which means there is some good in the catholic faith yet!
Let's just keep praying for honest priests to come into our church and for those who aren't to admit their faults and receive what punishment is due them. They should pray for God's forgiveness and hope that their punishment will be redeemed in purgatory.
