Return From The Hinterlands

Wow, I didn't realize that it's been so long since I last posted. A lot has been going on, so this will be a loooooong entry! (Thanks for the nudge!)

Well, first off, my job at the seafood place is just about over. The boss sold/merged the business with another local business, & nobody knew about it until the day it was all over & done with. I was going in a few days a week (before my vacation) to finish up paperwork. I haven't gone in since, but the Boss's Wife says that we still have to pack up all the office supplies & files, etc., so there might be a few days left for me to make some money.

On the bright side, Sylvan has really been there for me! They've given me a lot more hours, but I'm still not making what I got at the seafood place every week. Close, but no cigar, as they say.

As for my arthritic knee, the insurance company ok'd Supartz injections (fluid replacement), & I just had the last of 5 (yeah, 5!) injections last Tuesday. I still haven't felt much relief, but the PA says that it might take 6-8 weeks. I have an appt. in 7 weeks, & if I'm not much better, it might be time for that replacement.

Dave & I were on vacation 2 weeks ago at Silver Lake State Park in VT. It was a nice campground, despite the fact that it was a very popular place. Dave has been taking his blood pressure meds & they've actually helped; he is much easier-going, so we had an excellent time. Most of my time was taken up with reading, napping, & playing with the chipmunks, while Dave did a lot of reading, napping, & fishing. He actually caught 2 really nice largemouth bass (one 18" & 1 16"), and we took pictures and then ate them. Yummy!

I quit drinking soda while on vacation, & have continued to lose weight. I drank a lot of iced tea, and am now drinking water with Crystal Light for flavor. None of my pants will stay up. I can't wait to get back to my doctor so I can find out how much weight I've lost so far! (No, I don't have a scale.)

There was only one thing that worried me while on vacation: the fact that my right knee was having quite a bit of pain. Man, I do not want to start over with my other knee!

That's the update, in a nutshell. Hope everyone is having a great summer! Oh, and don't worry, I'll be ranting about something soon! Since I have to drive all the way to Keene & back 3-4 days a week, it'll probably be a rant about VT drivers again - not to mention tourists!
