Still working a lot of long hours. The Boss's wife is finally back, so that helps a little bit. I managed to get most of my filing done yesterday, and you can actually see my desk now!
I actually went to a party last weekend - well, it was a housewarming party at Wade & Kat's. There was a great deal of good food (including my Festive Salmon Spread), but there weren't many people. 6 adults and 3 children.
Now, it may be because both my children are grown, but I don't seem to enjoy being around young children that much any more. I have no problems with teenagers, but I would rather not deal with those humans under the age of 12 or 13, and the under 5 set tend to really irritate me.
So, the party didn't really get going until 2 of the children went home, and the other finally went off to bed; of course, we had to leave an hour later, so there wasn't much 'party' in the party. At least I got some recreation. Better than nothing.
Thanksgiving is tomorrow, and Dave & I are flying solo this year. We have a small turkey. It sucks that we have to work on Friday, but that's the way it is. Seriously, I don't know what idiot decided to stick this particular holiday on a Thursday; there's no recovery period!
Looks like we'll be going out this weekend to get our Christmas tree. Funny, it feels like I took down the old one not too long ago. I came in 2nd in the NASCAR pool, so the $162 I won went for new X-mas decorations. I bought a new light set: it's bells that flash and play music. That should really irritate Dave! (Luckily for him, there's also a silent mode!)
Time to go now. Wishing you all a safe & Happy Thanksgiving!
P.S. For those of you who aren't aware, the Easton vs. Phillipsburg Turkey Day game will be aired at 9 a.m. tomorrow on ESPN2. Easton is my high school alma mater, and their rivalry with P'burg is over 100 years old! I know my Dad graduated from PHS, but I wish he'd stop routing for them; it's embarrassing!
