well I've been contemplating a HP lovecraft meets Hellblazer world for a 2D side-scrolling game I'd like to make. I started sketching a guy holding a gun and it kinda evolved into a little mini scenario. Seems like a cool starting sequence, like:

Man walks down stairs
Man spots something
Man pulls out gun
Demon arises from the shadows

good catch. I definitely won't be able to start this project till after the new years, no time sadly. Although I am starting my work on the SDL library in C++, so no more pygame dependancies for me! Plus I can actually show people my work instead of having to make these ridiculous py2exe packages.

yeah I'm not sure wehre this project is going to go, but besides the occasional screwball game like Splatterhouse, the 2D horror field seems pretty slim to me.
