Well, I'm sure you've already read two accounts of the holiday. So here's a third.
Day 1
Got picked up at Pete's at 6 a.m. Got a few hours sleep on the journey there. Then we went and got the bikes. I originally got a rather old crap one but had to trade with Dona because her bike was to big for her hahahaha. The bike I got had rediculously tight brakes that took some getting used to, they nearly threw me off several times. Whilst biking around I managed to fall off (my fault for pratting around) I also noticed the seat was a bit loose. Whilst biking around later I fell off again but this time it wasn't my fault. I was going along the broadwalk and something just slipped on the bike (I assume it was the seat, I was too busy falling to pay too much attention) Went to get the bike sorted and had no more problems with it. We played some adventure golf, I didn't lose. James cooked in the afternoon, I washed up (I didn't feel like cooking) We went for a swim, me and Nick were the last ones left and narrowly missed being the last people on the rapids. We got back and were sitting around talking and 3 badgers came right up to the doors ,which was cool. they were much bigger than I imagined.
Day 2
It was wet and rainy but no matter. Had some indoor activities. Played some Badminton ,which I've never played before. It was much more fun once the shuttlecock broke and we could smash it around. Played some trivial pursuit, got fed up with that. Did some more swimming. There was some childish behaviour ,which I was a part of. This included but was not limited to attempting to steal people's shorts (namely louis and Steve's). Did numerous other silly things.Stayed up late chatting with Pete which was good. The badgers didn't return :(
Day 3
The football tournament. We origianally had too many people so I decided I wouldn't play. When I woke up I was told that I was playing because Pete had dropped out (can't remember why, I had only just got up) We came 3rd. We could have made 2nd but people were getting a bit tired by this time and we were completely thrown when the last game came later than expected. People were a bit puzzled at my wearing jeans at first but then remembered the fact that diving+astroturf=hurt knees. I performed quite well in goal. Saved a few good shots, especially considering I'm not a goalkeeper. James played well as a defender making many good blocks. Steve put the effort in and thats good enough for me and he made a brilliant on the line save. Louis missed several easy chances to score. Nick scored our goals (being the only forward) He put in a good effort. I put Nick and James equal for best player.
We then went bowling. I sucked. The lanes seemed narrower that usual and was completely put off by the machine deciding to give me extra bowls for the first few turns. When someone donated their lane to us as they were leaving I bowled a few on there getting 3 strikes...typical.
Then came the cooking. It was Pete and Nicks turn. Things started getting a bit stressed and some minor arguments erupted. It was doing my head in so I retired to my room for a bit and listened to some music. At and guess what? more swimming. Stevie got 'molested' by some 14 year olds (Stevie sandwich, hehe)
Day 4
Woke up shortly before the news broke. Decided to stay in because the alternative was watching cricket. Got bored of hearing the same news over and over and so went to sleep on the couch. Then we played squash which is an immensly fun game. Again, a game I had never played before. Fist I lost to Nick. Then I narrowly lost to James whilst I was getting into the swing of things. Then drew with Pete at one game a piece. I would of beaten him in the next game though. Then some short tennis. It was mildly amusing but seemed a bit boring after playing squash. There was more swimming that afternoon, though only Me, Nick and James went.
Day 5
The worst day. I couldn't seem to muster much enthusiasm. A number of people seemed to have attitude problems this day, which annoyed me.Sucked at tennis and snooker. I usually enjoy tennis but my mood stopped that. An argument errupted, it annoyed me greatly. Went for a meal. The restaurant must have been aiming for quantity over quality. Then headed home. Got stuck near an overturned lorry on the M25.
Now. I'm packing and just looking forward to tommorow. I can't wait to move in to my new house and see Amy again. I don't think I could stand another week here. No offence to my friends here but i'm sure you can understand. I have enjoyed being at home but I need to go back. It was great seeing everyone again and i'll try and get back whenever I can.
Talk to you all soon.
