So i'm back from the Edinburgh Festival. I know i haven't posted in yonkies because i've been off from work for two weeks so i've been pretty busy. I went to Largs for a weekend with a few friends because one of my friends gran, has a caravan there. It was really nice and a lot of fun. We went to Mill port for the day, went to some good pubs, and just generally had a nice time :D. Pictures will be up on facebook soon probably if anyone is interested.
I also had a lovely week in Edinburgh.
I stayed with my friend , Jenni who just moved into a new flat with some friends from Uni (She goes to QMU in edinburgh and they've moved out of Halls now). My friend from college, Jill, came through on Wednesday and we saw a few stand ups and went A LOT of shopping :P. Thursday we stayed in the flat till late afternoon, then went for a walk down the mile to get ideas of what to see over the weekend. We went out to a nice club called Opal Lounge at night and i soooooo wasn't going to get in with Student Cards but i did a tiny bit of begging and wangled my way passed the bouncers ! :P. Friday, my brother, Fraser came through to see me and we went to see a play that had been recommended to me by my college tutor called Ritter Dene Voss. I really enjoyed it, it was brilliant and even Fraser was impressed :P.
Now this seems random but it will make sense soon :P Given the lack of DW/CT news etc recently, my natural obsessive nature had latched onto other things :P I've always really liked and looked up to Amanda Redman. I think she's an absolutely brilliant actress and i love all the tv and film work she's been in. So i got a load of DVD's of New Tricks and At Home With The Braithewaites.
Here comes the connection :P
I found out that it was Amanda Redman's daughter in the play i went to see and Jenni's friend, Gemma is studying drama and theatre arts so i recommended the play to her as i thought she'd like the staging, acting, etc. She suggested we go see it on Saturday because i said i'd quite like to see it again and Jenni's mum was over so it was just the two of us.
We got to the venue, went to the toilet and came up the stairs to join the queue and OMG who was in the queue - AMANDA REDMAN !!!!!!! she was like 3 people in front of us - i couldn't believe it. I got my usual nervous, shaky self. Just as i did with Catherine Tate :P. Gemma was like 'oh you should go and say something' but i decided to wait until after the performance. It was a really small venue, we were at the front and i kept seeing her out the corner of my eye so i was totally nervous !!! :P
We waited in the foyer/bar bit for her to come out. She went to the toilet and when she was coming out to go stand with whoever she came with, i sort of stopped her. Once again some higher power seemed to steal all sense of words from my mouth and all i could muster up was "Hi there, sorry, excuse me , hi - could i possible get a picture with you it's just i'm a huuuuge fan of yours". She was sooo sweet and was like "oh yeah of course, sure." so we got the picture, then i asked if she could sign my programme to heather. She was like "oh ofcourse, heather? yeah no problem". She ran over to the nearest table to lean on and i said " I' really sorry to bother you but i would kick myself if i didn't say anything" and she said "oh no don't worry about it, it's no problem at all" She signed my programme, thanked me and i hit out with "OMG Thankyou So much, thankyou !!!!" :P. I was and still an unvbelievably chuffed ! :D She was just the nicest person ever and seemed genuinly surprised that i knew who she was and was a fan. Such a lovely woman and i'm so glad i met her ! Here are the pics ......
It's a bit blurry cause it was on my phone camera and Gemma said she felt a little nervous when she was taking the photo :P If anyone is a wizz kid at fixing photo's and knows if you can sort blurriness :P then feel free :)
We saw other plays that were really good, and i comedian called Joe Bor who we went to see two nights because it was free and he was really good :P.
so now i'm back and i'm off work tomorrow, which obviously i don't want to do. But hey ! i'm off to college next week and there's a good chance i'm getting a new job away from the Wicked Witch of The West !!! :D
Hows everyone else been ??
