Under The Blue Sky

So i've finally got round to writting about my trip to London and the play etc.
First of all the weather was utter crap !but tbh i wasn't really bothered - being scottish deffinately makes you more resilliant of the rain, didn't need a brolley all weekend :D
so friday i didn't reeeally do much, got to the hotel around 2 and just settled in etc. We just went to dinner across the road.
Woke up on Saturday EXTREMELY excited. we went on the bus tour in the morning and afternoon - we were such tourists :P so did the whole madam tussauds thing aswell, really loved it but think im not alone in thinking there really should be a Doctor Who section -old and new. So we got back to the hotel and were out for dinner again by half five.

The theatre was like five minutes round the road and out restaraunt was right across from the theatre. As soon as i saw the theatre i was soooooo excited. During dinner i saw Chris O'dowd go across the street and almost screamed :P ( i really like the IT crowd, he's sooo cute).
So yeah, made our way to the theatre, had a drink at the bar upstairs and were talking to the staff there- mainly about acting and catherine tate, by the end of the conversation one of them actually said 'so you're like obsessed with her then ?' cause i'd managed to tell them basically everything she'd been in and where she'd trained and a lot more before they'd looked at the programme :P one of them was so very impressed that i got a free drink from him :)
i was sooo excited going into the actual theatre, my seat was in row J so i  was quite far forward, it was quite a good place to be actually :D
Loved the first Act, i though the characters were brilliant and very well acted and i was really impressed with the writing (the entire way through infact). It was lovely, funny and slightly sad. Loved the fact they kept going back and forth from in depth conversation to mindless chat.
Absolutely adored act two for obvious reasons. From the outset Catherine's energy was amazing, once again , really funny with both characters being hilarious as the loud obnoxious one and the sort of wimp :P The writing again was fantastic with the acting just indescribable. It was my favourite scene, not to give anything away but i loved Michelle's story and the twist was really unexpected.  The mixture of seriousness and humour was a perfect balance. Catherine looked stunning and played drunk surprisingly well for not ever drinking :P
The third act was lovely. Once again the acting and writing was brilliant. I loved the story of the Aunt :). The dancing was really funny and had me giggling and smiling at just how cute and lovely the scene was. I loved the happy ending :D The curtain call was hilarious as Chris O'dowd tried this 'hop smoothly onto the stage' and missed it a belter ! so all the cast were laughing, and catherine found it hilarious. by the second curtain call she still hadn't stopped laughing.
Soooo....went to the stage door. and was soooooo nervous ! Chris came out first so i asked him to sign my programme -he signed it 'Hi Heather ! enjoy :D love Chris O'dowd' :) Then Catherine came out and i almost fainted, its so wierd seeing her actually infront of me rather than on the tv. There were two people infront of me so after them i dived right in :P (there were about 7 people there in total) i asked her to sign my programme to heather, and whilst she was i said i'd loved the play, she said 'thanks, im really enjoying it, glad you liked it'  then she realised she was about to sign the programme wrong, she said, 'oh i was about to write from heather there, that's your name, hold on' and changed it and we both giggled :P I asked her for a photo and she said 'sure darling' and put her arm around me for the photo. My mum took the photo  and almost shouted to catherine 'oh she's such a huge fan catherine' she obviously saw i was a) embarassed and b) very nervous so gave me a sort of hug thing when she put her arm round me, then we both said thanks :) i then realised i forgot to give her my letter so waited till she saw a few more people and went back up to her. i believe my exact words were 'hiya, so yeah i forgot to give you this. its umm a letter ummm for an ehmm assignement for my umm college drama course. i had to emmmm write to someone i ummm admired, so yeah .....um i picked you :) ' and handed her the letter. she was really sweet about it and said 'oh that's lovely sweetheart, that's lovely you picked me, thanks very much darling' and sort of squeezed my arm :D i almost died with excitement. she said thanks again and said bye, so i said bye back and waved like a tool :P
I have a picture with her and i, one my mum took of me hopelessly trying to explain my letter and a pic of my signed programme. should be up sometime tomorrow.
I'm still really chuffed and am *hoping* for a reply however long it takes :D
