Sometimes when I come into work in the morning, my area looks like a mini whirlwind has hit but only in certain spots. Today for example .. The trash can was tipped over. Papers that sat by the phone on the desk were on the floor. The deposit book was not in its right place. etc. I find it odd and a bit curious because I know I didn't knock over the trash can when I left Friday night or push those papers onto the floor, and I know I hadn't shoved the deposit book where I found it. Maybe we have gremlins. Or a ghost that finds it amusing to rearrange things on me and knock things over. Subtle but noticeable differences.
I'll use them as my excuse to get my favorite coffee today.
Barista: I thought you were cutting back?
Me: I am.
Barista: So what happened?
Me: Gremlins. (pause) Be sure to add the whipped cream, thanks.
