Everyone always says that when something smells kind of like sulfer, it smells like "rotten eggs." I have never actually smelled rotten eggs, and I was wondering if anyone here actually has, or if anyone here uses the phrase "smells like rotten eggs" and has never smelled a rotten egg

Unless the phrase just comes from the fact that it has a slight egg smell but also smells bad. I'm just over analyzing again, but i'd like some input!
