Divine Appointments

Isn't it amazing how many doors God will open when you're willing to take a risk?  Today in Am. Culture my teacher basically slammed Christian Protestants by saying that they were obsessed with salvation, sin, the devil, etc.  She didn't specify a group or time period, basically just generalized.  So...after class I went up to her and asked her what she meant.  She said that Protestants were obsessed with making sure their relationship with God wasn't in jeopardy by living a good life to make up for the bad things they had done.  I very politely told her that I was a Christian and that I was not at all obsessed with my salvation.  I know I am saved, I'm assured of that fact.  None of my good works got me saved and none of my good works will get me brownie points now that I am saved.  She said that today's Protestants are not obsessed in her opinion and that she was just referring to the Puritans in the 1700's (which isn't true anyway).  Interesting how she took an isolated event and generalized to our class about Christians.  But I thanked her for talking to me, and she thanked me for asking the question, and God is good, divine appointments are everywhere, and I need to go study :).
