I'm tired. I'd love to just stay in bed all day--now that we have a bed--but the contractors will be here soon. Plus I have to pick up the new business stationery and start work on the website.
Yancey didn't fuss at me too much when I got home yesterday after
doing the protection spell for Willy's Place. But he looked very disappointed last night, and this morning before he left. *sigh* I'll have to make it up to him.
Hope Willy and Astraeia don't get too complacent about the protection spell ... I told them it's not going to be as comprehensive as the one Willow did back home, but I'm worried they'll start thinking the two spells are identical. They're not. Mine just persuades violent types to steer clear if they're wanting to cause trouble. Doesn't mean someone can't get a mean drunk on once they're inside. At least Joan's still going to be there to help keep the peace.
*goes downstairs*
*unlocks door for contractors*
*starts sorting through printouts*
*looks up as three men walk through the door carrying carpet padding*
You're ear--hey, were you here yesterday? I don't recog--
*two of the men drop the carpet padding and rush forward to pin Cathy against the counter*
*the third man pulls a syringe from his pocket and approaches*
*Cathy struggles*
Get out of my store--you--YAN--
*a hand is clapped over her mouth*
*she manages to slip off her engagement ring and let it drop to the floor just before the third man pushes up her sleeve to inject her with the syringe*
*Cathy's unconscious body is bundled up in the carpet padding and carried outside to the waiting van*
