For my news-geeky friends...

Although veteran Cleveland anchors Tim Taylor and Wilma Smith have signed new multi year deals to remain at WJW-8-Fox, their work schedule has been cut to include only the station's 6 p.m. weeknight newscast. For years, they've handled both the 6 and 10.

The modified lineup has been in the works for months, according to News Director Greg Easterly, who noted that Taylor and Smith were both coming to the end of their current contracts in December.

Beginning Jan. 3, the 5 p.m. anchor team of Bill Martin and Stacey Bell will expand their duties to include the 10 p.m.

Weather guesser Dick Goddard, the station's most enduring presence, will continue to work the station's 5, 6 and 10 p.m.

EDIT: Here's video of the announcement, "Mossman" David Moss interviewed them both as they gave their thoughts and reasonings behind stepping down (warning 22mb, XViD codec required)
