I made Dean's List (3.5+ GPA with 12+ credits) for Fall Quarter at EWU. I didn't, however, get the grades that I expected.
Yeah, that's a somehow highly disappointing 3.0 in my Spanish class. I had thought I had done better than that. However:
That's a 3.63 with 15 credits, so Dean's List and a fairly respectable start to my EWU career, GPA-wise.
I looked into my Spanish grade further, in case it was wrong, etc. I found this lovely little tidbit:
The top score is the weighted score. Yes, I got an 83.04%, unfortunately. Most likely, it was low total grades on homework. But the interesting bit, I think, is the class average: 56.7%. The average score for the class was an F! Since 83% is a 3.0, that means 73% is a 2.0. Keep going and the average GPA for the class was an 0.5 (if you round up!).
Suddenly I feel much better about my 3.0.
