Got tight last night on absinthe and did knife tricks...

Dear journal,

things have been rather interesting lately...I've found myself doing more stuff and wanting to do more stuff, which is good...interaction is good...

I went out and hung out with Tori and James that comes into my work, and it was fun for the most part...not exactly the best of times, but still, it was nice to talk with them and whatnot...and I danced and had a good time overall...

but the shining part of the weekend was Saturday, in which I took part in my first ever Pittsburgh Pinball League tournament final...I have been attending the league for the past 10 weeks, and it has been one hell of an experience...

due to my points, I was the last seed in the A division, so I had the chance to win something cool if I placed in the top 4...I was in 9th place, and wasn't too sure how the night was going to go

I make my way out to Doug's house where the final was, and it was wonderful...he had 7 awesome pinball machines throughout his house, and we were constantly playing them...I was finally able to play the highly anticipated White Water pin, and it was great! I loved that one a lot..and doug also had a Medieval Madness, which is one that I was somewhat used to due to playing it THursdays at the meetings at the Beehive...

I was in the first round with ALT (Al) and found out that all I had to do was not be last out of our group of 3, and I would be moving on...I ended up second on every game, and was able to advance...

in my next round, I was with 3 other top ranked players, including 2 players that have won the championship before, so I was a little worried...Luckily, I ended up in first out of that round with 7 points to second place's 6, and that guaranteed me a place in the final round!

But of course, ALT made his way through his crew, and finished first in all their games, which in turn knocked all them out, and he would advance to the finals as well as two others from my group...

So, it came down to me, ALT, Brian, and Bob...

the first game we played was a game that ALT previously owned, called World Cup Soccer...I was picked to play it last, which was good so I could watch what was going on...on the last ball, I was pretty much guaranteed a 2nd place finish, which in my mind was a victory itself since ALT was in first, but I blew up on the last ball and ended up overtaking ALT's score to take first place on that machine!

After that, we went to play Star Trek, which I have never played before...I ended up in last place on that one, and thankfully ALT didn't get first, so there was still hope...

going into the last pinball machine, we had a three way tie for first place, so it came down to the last machine picked : Medieval Madness, which is ALT's favorite and best game there...

I went last, so I was able to watch...all three players had excellent first balls, and ALT of course was doing the best with 29 million...my average score after my first ball was around 3 million, so I was nervous...

Luckily, I was able to advance what I needed and hit what I was aiming for, and ended up ending my first ball with 26 mil...

the next ball for everyone wasn't good, but of course ALT had his way with the machine and got a bigger lead, and I went up and stayed right there with him, only being down a couple mil

after the others last ball, I found myself in guaranteed 2nd place...all I had to do was drop about 13 mil and beat ALT for the win...

after thinking about what I wanted to do, I plunged the ball...I started my attempt, and was doing what I needed...a couple close calls, a couple missed shots, but still advancing what I needed...

But in the end, my ball drained, and I fell a couple mil short, and ALT raised his hands in victory

To me, 2nd place is a victory in itself...I had one of the best players in the league nervous, and I was just a rookie...I ended up winning a plaque and 100$...^_____^

And I was very happy that Elena came out as well...I was glad to share this experience with her..:)

But now, it is crunch time for finals...I have my schedule figured out so I know when I plan on working on stuff, so that is cool...I freed up my saturday night to hangout, so a game night is in the future

Well, off to finish laundry and whatnot

college, pinball, elena
