[is walking very quickly, almost running, trying not to trip over her skirt

When the guy chasing her yells, "Hey, wait! I don't mean anything bad!" Ava hikes up her skirt a little to pick up the pace. And it's not like the guy was doing anything too bad. He was just coming on to her a little to strong, and Ava just. Couldn't handle it, so she ran. sob :<

And now she has just tripped over something and is on her way to meet the ground--]

[And here is Dan, casually walking to the Art Department when the girl he's just about to pass almost does a faceplant on the ground.

Startled, Dan's eyes widen as he reaches out to catch Ava by the elbow and shoulder]

[opens her eyes when she realizes that she has not met her longtime friend the ground and then looks up at Dan with a slightly bewildered and distressed expression before looking behind her to see... that guy... still there and her expression becomes more distressed DDD:]

[follows Ava's gaze and sees the other guy, yells across with a sheepish smile on his face]

I think she got the point now!

[The guy gives a look of disbelief and says something along those lines while he continues his way towards them.

Ava sees this and unconsciously clutches the hem of Dan's shirt tightly and closes her eyes]

[in a quieter voice, only for Ava to hear as the guy approaches them] It's all right. I don't think he wanted to hurt you.

[louder, to the guy] You surprised her, it looks like.

[The guy says he just wanted to apologize and sheepishly scratches the back of his neck before leaving after all he gets from Ava is a ":<"

and after he leaves, it takes a moment for Ava to realize that she's holding onto someone else's shirt, so she lets go instantly and stumbles back a few steps] ... Sorry.

[smiles comfortingly] It's no problem. See? He just wanted to say sorry.

[fidget fidget fidget fidget] ... But he... wanted something strange. I had no idea what to do.

[He blinks, laughter ceasing]
