growing up in world war three
Treat others as you want to be treated right? that is what our parents told us when we were younger right? so what if someone treats you shitty, does that mean that they want to be treated shitty in return, and we can be mean? or do we still have to treat them nicely? and what if it's our parents who are acting the jerks? Tonight my step dad got mad at me for making hamburger helper for dinner. I know he doesn't like hotdish of any form, especially not hamburger helper, but I made it anyways. Why would I do this you may ask? Well, He asked me what was for dinner, I really wasn't picky, so I was going to be nice, asked him what he wanted, and I would even cook it. He never responded. Then, about 20 minutes later, he came upstairs, and was angry with me and my brother for not having made anything for dinner. And then he went outside. So I decided what we were having for dinner. I wanted hamburger helper, it sounded good to me, and yes, i was angry at him for yelling at me. (He told us we were both adults, we should know how to make dinner, but hey, I'll treat you like your 5 anyways...) so yeah, I started cooking up the hamburger, and he came back inside, saw what I was making, tried to yell and my brother for it (I put a stop to that, cause it would just end in everyone being pissed, after a big long screaming match). So I told him it was my idea. he tried to yell at me for it. then I told him about him not saying what he wanted, so i made something i wanted. He didn't stay for dinner... huh... nah, he left. still hasn't come back come to think of it. Oh well, at least he's not here yelling at us. I'm on vacation. I just graduated. I don't want to clean my room, not so that it looks the same as when i wasn't living here. I kinda have stuff that I had at school that now has to fit in here...
so that got me thinking about treating people the way you want to be treated. I think my step dad missed that lesson. Or just blatantly chose to forget about it. Whatever.
but happy news, I know other people have been posting 'what i got for christmas' So I might as well too:
**Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (movie)
**Hand held sudoku (2 of them actually)
**travel accessories
**Guitar Hero III
**puzzles
**Speaker for the Dead (Ender novel)
EDIT: ** I also got a laptop cooler thing that I set my laptop on so it doesn't overheat. It works GREAT!!
** something that is sorta like a little black book, but seriously meant for a 13 year old, but still rather cute (funny, even if it is bright pink)

Oh, and I leave next Wednesday! For Africa!
but I kinda need to write a paper, based on the GSJ novels, so if you know anyone that has one, that I could ask them a couple questions about it, so I can write the paper, that would be great! otherwise, I have no idea what I'm going to do...
