So this weekend, I did pretty much absolutely nothing. Got hammered on Friday for the first time in a while with some good people, so that was great. My baby was in Boston to see Coldplay...again...with some girls from NYC. I'm stoked for her. Road trip with the girlies for a great show.
So, outside of Friday night, I went to the bank yesterday, and helped moved furniture for my Grandmother this morning. That's it. Didn't leave the house otherwise. And it was great. Saved money, caught up on sleep, and gave my mind a break.
I'm now trying to figure out just how to solicit freelance work. I have no idea how to get clients, especially in CT. I don't know the do's and don'ts of approaching people for work. Is it bad form to call random businesses? Should I just post to nation-wide forums for work of people I'll never even meet? I wish I had the chance to take a class on the business of being an artist. Oh right, I did take one, and dropped out.....awesome move!
Talked to Erich today. It was great to hear him. Sounded great, and we had a nice chat. It's very weird tho, because I brought up something to him I thought he'd make fun of me for, but he said he went through the same thing at my age. Lately, I've been breaking down a lot and crying. It's weird because I'm not really stressed out lately. I'm very happy for the most part. But I think about my grandpa, and I cry. I think about Erich, and I cry. I think about everything my parents have gone through and had to put up with the past years, and I cry. I think about money and the fact that it doesn't come as easy as I thought it would, and I cry. I think about how bad I was to Tuni last summer, and I cry. I'm just really emotional lately, like borderline menopausal.....which is fucking strange since I'm neither 50 nor a woman. I just chalk it up to having a lot going on, and all of it pulling me in different directions mentally and emotionally. But again, I'm not really down, and not sad in the general sense by any means. I've decided to accept that things will work out, and things will get done, and things will happen. The best thing to do is just roll with it.
In closing, I love my baby; I love my Brother; I love my parents; I love Gen, my Nieces, and my soon to be Nephew; I love my Cousin Erin, and her sons and Tyler; I love my Grandparents; I love Patrick and William; I love my Aunts, my cousins, and my Uncle. If I left anyone out of that who I should love, I love them, too.
