week good and bad...
so this week has had it's pro's and cons like any week would but some really good pro's really not not not so good cons. fuckin figure out that triple negative o ya. so the pros have been that i've seen some pretty damn good concertos. on wednesday night I saw the glorious lawrence arms, with shortround, the cardinal sin who are pretty good and a wilhelm scream who didn't fit the category of good music. the singer didn't fit the type of music cuz he just wasn't good and other reasons i didn't like them will remain disclosed. short round kicked ass. it was funny, cuz jason thinh announced that last week he finished 10 AA meetings and right after he said that one can probably guess what he did. the larry arms couldn't have played a better set list. they played everything off of the chinkees/larry arms split, which is an awesome cd by the way. and they played an evening of extraordinary circumstance-their oldest song. i screamed my lungs off each song being huge fan. at the concert i chilled with brian kalweit, mac, and the previously briefly acquainted emma. brian is quite the character is all i can say. o yeah, i've come in contact 3 times this week with my hero/idol mike park. great guy are the only words one needs to describe this ska/punk god. people who like asian man records should go support him on aug 25 at i think slims or somethin, i don't remember really where. see his website at mikeparkmusic.com on thursday night i saw catch22, reel big fish, and the rxbandits. we would have seen the suburban legends but we might a few wrong turns. it's alright tho, it was quite the adventure. stevee jay saved the day with his great mapskills. everyone was so damn paranoid we were gonna get mugged in the bad neighborhoods and we would get raped on polk street. we saw one guy that looked exactly like oj simpson. i think that night i enjoyed rxb the most. the crowd wasn't so damn rambunctious as the people watching rbf. they clearly didn't understand that they were at a ska show where u skank and not push each other around trying to beat the crap out of one another. idiots. it's okay tho, cuz me and lane and sir jonathan lytle got our skank on. their was a skanking boycott on catch 22's new stuff. now for the cons, my gf lauren has been gone all week tho she did call me yesterday long distance on her gma's credit card. great thanx to that woman. i miss her so much, but she's comin home this afternoon. the other is last night my family had to go out to dinner with these old neighbors from our house in bodega bay. we drove to petaluma and sat thru hours of traffic. the restaurant had really good italian food. i didn't talk at all. my mom talks so much, too much. she needs to just shut it sometimes. because her excess talking after dessert, we got stuck in traffic. one lane had closed an hour and 23 minutes ago. we could have easily made it if it weren't for the caucazn devil. that's all i have to say. l8er kids.
