As Flack looked out his side window, he gave a long sigh. Nope, nothing. He'd been waiting nearly a half an hour, tired of the weather, and had migrated back to his car. Lucky thing he was a cop, or he'd get towed for illegal parking. But being a homicide detective has its perks. Checking his window for what seemed like the hundredth time, Flack was surprised to see the woman whose face and name he'd just forced himself to memorize: Catherine Willows... from the Las Vegas crime lab. And her daughter, Lindsay.

At the time, Flack's deal with Mac to pick up any new recruits and bring them back to crimelab in exchange for his annaversary night with Danny off had seemed like a great idea. Now, he had come to the sad theory that New York was about to have some horrible crime spree. That must be the case, seeing as the size of their CSI team had more than doubled in the last month all with recruits from Vegas and one from Miami.

This was the first time one of them had brought someone along with them though... Flack opened his door, walking around the side, heading up to Catherine and Lindsay. "Catherine and Lindsay Willows?" Don asked, flashing a smile to the ladies.

"Yes?" Catherine replied, a tone of slight distrust seemed to surface. After everything she'd heard and seen on the job she'd learned quickly human beings are capable of anything and they'll say anything to make you believe what they want you to. She noticed the police car behind him, then added, "You must be from the New York crime lab?"

"Close enough." Don said, smiling and extending his hand. "Don Flack, NYPD. I'm homicide." he added, in explination. Turning to Lindsay, Flack smiled and nodded. "What do you ladies say we get outa here?" he offered. "I can take some of those bags fer you."

"Sure, thanks." Catherine smiled and handed him a few of Lindsay's bags. While they were putting bags in the trunk Catherine took in her surroundings, "It's nothing like Las Vegas here, equally as beautiful just less glowing lights." Catherine climbed in the car and took her hat and gloves off. "So what's it like living in New York city? Or am I going to regret moving here from Vegas?"

Flack shook his head. "No way. New York's the big apple. The greatest city in the world. There's no place quite like it. Besides, unlike Vegas, you can see New York's got the skyline..." He said, staring up at what had been his home his whole life. "Once you know where to stay away from, you'll be fine." he added. "So I'm guessing I'm dropping you two off at... your appartment? Or are you staying with a friend?" Don asked, uncertain of the specific details.

Catherine looked up and saw the skyline, and knew that she had made the right decision in moving. "Well originally we were going to go to our apartment but seeing as I doubt our furniture has arrived yet I think we'll just stay at the Holiday Inn..." Catherine looked down at the paper she'd scribbled phone numbers and sites to visit and the hotel her mother Lily had recommended, "...on 57th Street between 9th and 10th."

ooc: only reason i know this is a real hotel and street locations etc. is i just went to new york for my 16th birthday.
