Wandering down a street, looking slightly exhasperated was Detective Lindsay Monroe, clad in work appropriate attire and a crime scene analysis kit. She honestly hated lugging the thing around because, despite the muscles gathered from saddle braiding, she found no entertainment in expending her energy on something so dark and macabre looking. Some part of her felt like... well, nevermind. Lindsay shook the thought and tried to push the image of her own crime scene out of the way.
Noticing the Lab cars parked up ahead, and caution tape surrounding the entrance to a relatively sketchy looking alleyway, Lindsay sighed and tucked her hair back behind her ears, ready to delve into another crime scene.
Ducking under the yellow tape, she smiled politely at the cops that were already there, writing whatevers on their tiny legal pads and occasionally glancing around. Lindsay always figured they only did that to seem important, or movie-cop like. One day she'd remember the mental note to ask a cop (in a non-insulting way, of course), lest she ever get to have a casual conversation with one. Flashing her ID at the cop standing closest to the body, she motioned at her kit as if to say, 'you gonna let me at it or what?'. Perhaps not the place or subject to crack jokes on, but Lindsay was far too busy on making sure she wasn't too disconcerted by the face-up body than to be politically correct.
In Montana they weren't as brutal as they are to some of the victims here.
Her first reaction was the place the kit down and kneel next to the body, slowly snapping on a pair of rubber gloves and furrowing her brows (checking for obvious signs of a struggle, or strangulation, or contusions or whatever. Sid can't have ALL the fun--well okay technically he can. thus why she was searching for OBVIOUS signs). Lifting up the camera hanging from her neck gently, she bit her lip and narrowed in on the face, noticing something odd about it. Aaand snap camera once, twice, thrice, etc.
Igancio had gotten the call to the scene and arrived as promptly as was possible from being near clear across the city on some personal business. Approaching the alley it was easy for him to see where the crime scene was. The bright yellow tape had nothing to do with it at all...
Flashing his ID badge he entered the scene and looked about him to get a lay of the land. He heard some muttering between the cops but most of it was speculation and jotting down of notes in those little books they were known to carry around. He didn't pay them much mind as it was the victim which always rested at the forefront of his thoughts. Especially when at the actual scene of the crime.
When he approached Monroe she was taking pictures of the body. He set his own kit down and took a look at what she was doing while putting on his own pair of gloves.
"What do you think we have here. Male. Can't be more than 18." Upon looking closer he saw there was indeed several obvious wounds not all surrounding the face but the face was the most badly beaten. But it was the manner of bruising that was of interest. He should probably start looking for the weapon and any other evidence that could prove useful.
Stella had kept a low profile for a while, catching up with reports. And it seemed nothing more than report after report for her to type up. She had a lot on her mind and felt the work could block those problems.
Not for long had she managed to go for a break before her pager sounded. Rolling her eyes she had left the lab building without a moment to spare. She was glad she kept her kit in the SVU of hers. Hoping in she drove to a nearby block away from the crime scene.
She got out and with her lab kit by her, she flashed her badge to the cops by the crime scene tape and stepped under. She noticed Lindsay and Ignacio already there.
"Hey guys, okay so what do we know so far?" She hoped they could clue as much as they knew before she got started.
Her vehicle did not pull up until later that day as Aiden quickly climbed out of the car, grabbing her crime scene kit before slamming the door shut and making her way under the crime scene tape, her eyes scanning the scene to notice anything out of the usual. Her heels clicked along the ground, echoing off into the distance as she spotted a familiar face coming closer into view.
Smiling, Aiden quickened her pace before walking up to Stella, her breaths a little quick. "Hey...I sorry about bein' a little late. Traffic." She said, rolling her eyes at the thought of waiting in those lines again before she turned to face the body, noticing Lindsay and Igancio as well. "Hey." She said, greeting them before setting her kit down with a small clank!. "So, what's up with him?" She asked, making a small face at the position of the scene.
Stella heard Aiden, looked up and smiled. "It's fine Aiden. Only sorta really got here myself. Yeah the traffic today's pretty hectic."
She turned to the body and back to Aiden. "Only just got a good look at the vic now. Male, late teens I'm guessing, unless Lindsay or Ignacio can tell us otherwise. There seems to be an amount of bruising to the left sid of his face, and some sort of trace on the other. But that's all I've managed to get at the moment."
Stella noticed that Lindsay was already taking care of the photos, and Ignacio was investigating the scene. There were cops attending to a few standers by the crime scene tape... perhaps she should go over and see if they got some witness statements.
"Aiden, you good to check over the crime scene with Ignacio and Lindsay? I'll go over to the crowd seeing if anyone saw anything."
(I can't seem to find Flack or Angell yet... that is if they're investigating this also...)
Bracing herself against the blustering winds sweeping through the alley, Jennifer glanced down at her notepad and reviewed the messy scrawls of writing. The few witnesses she had managed to find in the small crowd of gawkers didn't have much to say; she knew that whenever a crime was committed on the streets, nine times out of ten the witnesses turned a blind eye.
She heard the approach of heels on the pavement and looked up to see Stella walking toward her.
"There isn't much to go on, witness-wise," Jennifer said to the curly-haired detective. "Have you guys found anything?"
Stella didn't know what to say, she really got there herself and hadn't properly started her part of the investigation.
"Well, there's an amount of bruising to the vic's face and some trace on the other side. The smear looks a little like some cosmetic... lipstick maybe? Until we're back at the lab though."
She figured if there wasn't much to the witness statements she should head back to the others and start looking for some clues.
Aiden glanced over at the officers before turning to look at Stella. "Yeah, not a problem. I'll see what else we can find and then I'll let ya know what's up." She finished as her eyes landed on Jennifer, giving her a small greeted nod before making her way closer towards Lindsay and Ignacio. She had not really worked with either of them before and was more than curious as how this would play out
Snapping on gloves, Aiden crouched down to get a closer look at the body, her eyes tracing along the teen's delicate features. He was young and just like any scene with a minor, it got to the roots of Aiden's heart and she had to try her best not to let any sort of emotional factor play in any part of the investigation.
Reaching over (after noticing that Lindsay had taken a couple shots with her camera), Aiden moved the teen's head so that his closed eyes hidden behind his frames, was facing her. "Lipstick..." she breathed before glancing up. "Doesn't surprise me with the clothes he's wearin'."
Stella had taken her torch out, and snapped on latex gloves. Work wasn't going to get done on it's own, and the CSIs all had to work together. She took another look at the victim. He looked like someone who shouldn't have been in an alleyway. With what he wore, he could've been meeting someone perhaps? The evidence would lead the way.
She decided to head towards a huge outside bin, opening the double lid to see if anything was visible inside the lid. But it meant checking inside, if the possible murder weapon was thrown in, for Stella. A lot of cases saw murder weapons ditched close to the scene. And there was no ME present to help them with some sort of official finding on the COD of the victim.

"None of the witnesses knew our vic?"
