Oh, I loved the Numa Numa scene!! Only on SGU! I like how you made the kiss scene B/W - it shows it off so much better! Any chance I can get this in the original size? {Bambi Eyes} Great choice for AWESOME, too. Yep, that's our man. That scene made me cry.
Hah, I did not expect the kiss to be so popular! Making it b&w was actually a desperate move -- once I made the pic brighter the color version was just awful. I only kept the 400x250 version. But tried to redo a larger one (in two versions -- I am not sure I could grab the exact same moment) today.
OMG, thank you so much - I absolutely adore these!!! One of my favorite scenes in the whole show, and it's sooo dark!! I don't suppose you could do the same trick with the hand kiss in the infirmary in "Lost"? That's another one I just can't seem to be able to pull off.
The handkiss is way too dark. if I brighten it and turn it to black and white, it does not help. young is just a piece of mush on the picture. :( Sorry...
Such a shame, isn't it? I love that scene. I remember it took my breath away when I first saw it, and it still makes me want to cry every time now - it's so PERFECT. And too dark!!!!
I thought there was humility in his gesture, too... that he would not simply presume he could just plant one on her lips and squeeze the crap out of her (which is what any other bloke would have done). Instead he puts himself into a "servant" position, as it were. And she totally got that message, when she smiles under her tears.
Ack... now I'm tearing up again... sniffles... such a magnificent actor moment. Those two work so well together.
Agreed. What first stroke me about that kiss was that Young essentially made it clear that he was willing but gave TJ the final decision. He'd be my guy - I dread guys who are predators on a hunting trip (dating) going for the final kill.
See, that's what attracted me to this relationship in the first place: the equality in it. That even though Young is her boss he doesn't let it play into his private moments with her. The way he always lets her lead in a kiss - he always stops and lets her make the final approach and decision to stop if she wanted to.
You know, I was always curious whether Young would come to a point where his passion overshot his thinking man's love, and he led the way. If they could read each other well, I think TJ would allow that rush of passion to excite her. I don't see her being overwhelmed. If at any point where she did feel liek that, I think he would be able to feel the change in her body. I sometimes wonder too if she would just want him to rush in like a bull in heat and live in the moment of it.
I think that probably happened after they actually got over the awkwardness of the past that stood between them and both felt secure in the relationship. But I can absolutely imagine Young doing it.
Oh I totally agree. He's very exposed here. He's letting her make the choice in the end by stopping and he's so uncertain of his magnetism, his hope is on his sleeve. TJ, Thank God, had the where withall to recognize his love and need. In the end, seeing how happy he made her and took care of her, she made the correct decision. Well, at least for me. I like to play that scene over and over, it just makes me so happy. Yes, I'm sappy.
