The last golden rays of the evening highlighted her hair as the sun dipped towards the horizon. Sara stood at the edge of their deck, the sunset capturing her in a perfect silhouette.
Rising from his chair, Grissom plucked a scarlet flower from the vase on the patio table. He wrapped his arms around her from behind, running the petals lightly along her arm. “Summer set lip to earth’s bosom bare, and left the flushed print in a poppy there.”
“How am I supposed to resist a quote at sunset?”
Bringing his mouth to her ear he whispered, “You aren’t.”
