Saturday night, Lindsay and Danny's apartment, just before 10.

Jul 01, 2006 21:42

Lindsay was sat on the patio in shorts and a tank top, barefoot, beer in hand as she watched Rex try to catch a moth that'd been floating just above his head since they've been out here. "Silly dog, you're gonna hurt yourself," she said to him with a smile. He looked over at her and half-woofed, and she could swear he just smiled at her ( Read more... )

Danny juggled the Thai food bags in his hands as he unlocked the door, half-hoping Lindsay was in the mood for a nighttime snack. He was still mostly sober, which was both a shock to him and his system because everyone had been drinking.

Making his way inside, he dumped the bags on the counter in the kitchen before taking a peek at the pictures on the table. Huh. He shrugged and headed for the patio, his fingers switching the country station on the radio to the slow rock one. "Anyone home that might just.. oh.. miss me?"

Lindsay heard the music change and frowned, then looked up at Danny and smiled. "Hey, baby. I think Rex might have missed you, but I was okay," she teased him, grinning as she stood up. "Have fun?"

Danny stepped onto the patio, looping his arms around Lindsay's waist before leaning in to kiss her hello. "If you didn't miss me, I can just go ahead and sleep," he said softly, grinning. "Had a real good time. You and Rex have fun?"

"Well," she said softly, tilting her head to the side. "Maybe I missed you a little bit. Enough that you don't have to go to bed just yet."

Lindsay ran her hands up Danny's arms and came to rest on his shoulders before she kissed him. "We were okay, yeah. Went through some pictures, talked to my mom, stuff like that. Nothing special. Glad you had a good time, though," she said with a nod.

"I'll just have to spend time out here with you, then. Got you a snack if you want it," he murmured, his fingers brushing lightly along her jaw.

Danny laughed and bit gently at Lindsay's lower lip, nodding. "I saw some of the pictures. How's your mom doing? Your dad still going to come out here and try and make an honest man outta me?"

She nodded and smiled. "Out here is good. But, anywhere with you is good," she said softly. "What'd you bring home?"

Lindsay laid her forehead on his shoulder and sighed. "Things are good, but Amy's ... she's being Amy. I don't know how to put it. Mom says hi, and Daddy says he still wants to take you out for a drink when they're out here," she said with a laugh. "I love my family, I swear I do."

"Missed you, ya know." Danny smiled, resting his chin against Lindsay's head and pulling her tighter against him. "Found a Thai place on the way back from Jake's place. I was driving him home, was too wasted to walk."

He drew his fingers through her hair gently, his hands making their way down her back. "You need to talk, I can attempt to listen." He smirked slyly and shook his head, pretending to be slightly worried when he actually figured he'd enjoy her family. "He can take me out for a drink, but just warn him that I can defend myself."

"Mmm, missed you too," she murmured softly. Lindsay leaned into him and smiled. This was home. "He try anything? Because 'I was drunk' is the universal excuse, right?"

Shrugging, she shook her head. "No, I'm fine. Just in a mood, that's all." Looking up at him, she grinned. "He wouldn't dare. Don't forget, his oldest daughter carries a gun and just happens to be madly in love with you," she said with a wink.

Danny frowned slightly. "Hey, play nice," he murmured before playfully nipping her ear. He was guilty of that excuse, but not anymore, right? "His boyfriend was in the backseat, so when Jake tried to feel me up, I had to say no."

He gently nudged Lindsay towards a chair, biting his lip. "Gotta get you out of the mood. Am I gonna have to carry you over my shoulder? Spank you? Tie you to the car and go for a ride?" He teased her with a grin. "You're madly in love with me, and that makes him more protective."

She made a face. "Pfft, I was teasing. I like Jake, although he should know better than to try to feel up the boss's boyfriend," she said with a smirk.

"Noo, you brought me Thai. Let's go inside. We can come back out here if you want to, but right now, food," she grinned. "And you can tie me up, and I might let you spank me, but you aren't tying me to anything with an engine, thanks. Weirdo." Lindsay stretched up and kissed him, biting at his lip. "Maybe it does, but he would never try to hurt you. He just wants to know that his little girl is in good hands. S'what he told me."

Danny wet his lips as he snickered. "Yet you don't ask if I managed to cop a feel," he said playfully.

"Food. You got a one-track mind, Montana," he shook his head, reaching down to gently smack her ass. "You want me to feed you?" He laughed against her mouth, kissing her deeply for a couple of moments and then reluctantly pulling away. "She's in good hands. Promise."

"Hey, you wanna cop a feel, go ahead. You know where the couch is," she said with a wink. "So, did you?"

Laughing, she nodded. "Learned that from you. What is it, sex then food, followed by everything else? Well, we're not having sex right now and I didn't eat anything for dinner, therefore food wins," she said with a giggle. Lindsay leaned into him, kissing him slowly before linking her fingers with his and pulling him behind her into the apartment. "Is she? Because that's what I told him. I think he just wants to hear it from you."

"In all honesty, I'd rather be feeling you up," he smirked comfortably and tipped her chin up so he could meet her eyes, make sure she knows he's telling the truth.

Danny barely muffled a snort, barely keeping a straight face. "Sex, food, work, sleep," he said and squeezed her fingers, his lips brushing her neck as he pulled away from her slightly, giving her more room to walk. "Don't know how safe these hands are, but I won't share that part."

She knew. If he didn't want her, he wouldn't be with her. That was something Lindsay learned not too long after she first met him. "Right here, cowboy," she said over her shoulder, looking back and grinning.

"See? Sex, food, work, and sleep." Lindsay laughed, shaking her head. Making her way into the kitchen, she dug through the bags until she found the Shanghai Noodles. Grabbing a fork, she didn't even bother to put it in a bowl, just ate it out of the container. "I think your hands are perfectly safe. Besides, they know all the right spots," she grinned innocently.

Danny laughed, a smile on his face as he watched Lindsay root through the bags. "In that order. Hungry much?" He teased, grabbing his own food and digging in. Swallowing a bit, he set the container back down, his hands sliding onto Lindsay's hips, his mouth brushing her ear as he whispered, "So, all the right spots? Maybe tonight I'll have to double check, see if I got them all."

"I told you, I didn't eat dinner," she said, pointing at him with her fork. "Don't start with me, Messer. I told you, I'm in a mood." Lindsay raised an eyebrow and gave Danny a little half-smirk.

She closed her eyes and leaned back against him, her food forgotten on the counter for the time being. "Uh huh," she murmured, her hands finding their way along his thighs. "Might want to do that, just to make sure," Lindsay whispered.

If it were anyone else that made her feel this way, she'd hate them for getting to her so easily. But with Danny, it didn't matter. She'd be more upset if she didn't react to him this way, because then something would be wrong. Even when they fought, her body still reacted to him as though she'd been electrified.
