So it has been awhile since I updated you all on the hubby. For those of you that don't know.....he has been battling cancer for about 2 1/2 years now. He has stage 4 melanoma - which is not curable.
He is in experimental treatments - this one he is in now is is 4th type of treatment that they are trying on him. He is at the hospital at least 2x per week for treatment, blood work, skin biopsies, cat scans, etc. It is just insane. So far the treatment has kept it confined to his lower left side....except now he has a few suspicous bumps on his right side....almost feel like bug bites.....but nothing showed on his last cat scan about a month ago.....so we don't know what those are yet. He is still working 4 - 5 days a week.............but comes home and is amost asleep immediately after dinner or sick from treatment. This is hard for me to take care of him, the munchkin and take over the bulk of the house duties......plus keep my sanity knowing what he is going through.
Then the munchkin - well that is a whole different story. He is likely gifted.....He is 4 and working at about a 2nd grade level, reading at quite a high level, learning spanish, doing basic math in english and in spanish, just to name a few things......but gifted kids also have other issues one needs to deal with. The school has thrown around several possibilites including sensory perception issues and autism. We are currently working with the school district psychologist and she is testing him for a few things including his IQ. Like we needed any if this right now.....
Then - I do a yearly fundraising event for the American Cancer Society called the Relay for Life. Here is a link if you are interested in learning more about it.

I have been involved with this for about 18 years now. The last 3 years my team has raised over $10,000 - last year almost $12,000. We raise money through donations.....but we also make a ton of stuff to sell. Last year my mom (who is a 12 year breast cancer survivor) decided we should make those fleece tie blankets. Well they sold out....so of course she wants to make more this year.....fine I don't mind.....well now she has me cutting fleece to make over 60 of them. EEEK Here is a pic of what one looks like.

Here is the link to my webpage....you can see a pic of me and my mom - it is a few years old.

She says last night - I have to start selling this stuff NOW. No I can't wait a few months....I have to start doing it now. Oh great - in my free time??? ARGH
LOL - well thanks for letting me rant! Feels good to have gotten that off my chest!
