Lost in Translation
Lost...I got lost in the midst of work the past few weeks. It's been a mad rush...it's earnings season and CNY is just after the dealine for quarterly reporting! So there was hardly any breathing space in between to do any CNY preps...gotta clean the house, buy foodstuff, deco it a bit, and....prepare ang pows. *ouch*
So, where should I start......

Ok, last week my phone died on me - temporarily. On Thursday night, I plugged it in to charge the batt. Suddenly, the screen went blank! OMG....what happened? Tried to turn it on. Heard the "turn-on music", saw the keypad light up...but the screen was black! Perhaps it was a litte power outage or something when I turned on the charger. Darn! But well, the phone's been around me for a while. Time to change. But it's those contacts, pics and SMS-es that I have inside the phone!....arrgghhh....Thankfully we have a spare old phone - the trusty Nokia 6510. ~oooohhhh~ so the next day, made a few calls, and was thinking of bringing the phone to the Motorola Service Centre during lunch. However, got sent to a briefing by the boss. So, didn't get to send the phone for servicing. At home that night, I decided to just try the phone one more time (I'm still in disbelief that the phone died on me...I treat it so well!). Pressed that red button....and it lit! The screen lit up! Yeah!! It's working again! The phone revived!! hahahaha...it slipped into a coma for a while. So now, it's all ok. :-)

Last week - 2 weeks before CNY. Was afraid there would be long queues at the banks to change new notes the week before CNY. So I decided to change the new notes earlier. Went to DBS (Raffles Place) one day during lunch...wow. They ran out of new notes and red packets already?? It's only 12:30pm...The girl said the notes (aka the Prosperity Pack) will arrive the next morning, when the bank opens at 8:30am. And they usually run out by 10:30am - 11am. My goodness! So fast! No wonder there was no queue during lunch...
Since our morning conference call ends by 8:30am everyday, I could actually make it for the Pack....so I went the next day. I had thought the queue would be long, but I guess, being so early in the morning, the queue was really short. Yeah...so managed to get some new notes.

Went shopping for CNY goodies. It's our first CNY as married persons, so parents say must buy goodies for the older relatives. Ok....plus we wanted to get some goodies for the parents too...the load was heavy...but we manged to buy for everyone at one go. Phew! Saved so much time.
