Finally......Long overdue
This post is loooong overdue. I haven't posted anything for 34 weeks! (according to LJ).
Well, just a quick run through of what has happened (key milestones) over those 34 weeks.....
I think the last time I posted was Louisa's 1st month celebrations...okay...
Louisa...
~ was baptised in Feb
~ made lots of "cooo-ing" noises from 6 weeks...and didn't stop till today. noisy! then again, she's a gal...gals are more chatty.
~ flipped over on her tum tum (one side only) when she was abt 4 mths old (some flipped at 3 mths!) - before this, she'd always get "stuck" on her side...hahahahah
~ was able to flip back onto her back from her tum tum (still that same one side)
~ enjoys flipping. Every time we put her down on her back, "fliiippp"! she'll flip over immediately/instantly
~ totally loves her Rainforest Jumperoo - "jump jump jump wheeee!!! *squeal*"
~ finally flipped over on her tum tum (the OTHER side) and back onto her back, when she's closer to 6 mths
~ started her first solids at 5.5 mths - Healthy Times Brown Rice Cereal (other solids that soon followed: apple puree, pear puree, carrot puree, sweet potato puree, broccoli puree) No constipation to date...yeah!
~ wanted to try and self feed at 6 mths (or was she more playful and wanted to play with her spoon?)
~ started babbling..."yah yah yah yah...ba ba ba ba ba" (The daddy would prefer to believe that she was saying "Pa pa". The Mummy begs to differ)
~ sat up on her own (without support) at 6 mths - She pushed herself up to sit on her own. Caught us totally by surprise! She could even use 1 free arm, to balance...babies....u'll be surprised by them constantly...
~ started to stand at about 7 months, using her Bumbo seat as support. Again, she caught us by surprise. She "slithered" across her bumper mat to the Bumbo seat, grabbed it and pushed her legs to stand...by herself.
~ is a musician in the making?? Put her at the coffee table, she'll stand (with it as a support and us behind her) there, bang her hands on the table top (percussions, I suppose), make lots of noise "ba ba ba yah yah, ah ah ah!" (singing, I presume?), AND SHAKE HER BUTT (bounce bounce bounce)!! (dancing??)
~ made her first POUT. Stick out the upper lip, tuck in the lower lip. Hmmmmph.
~ had her first photoshoot at 6 mths
~ started to "boo!" at things she doesn't like...also at about 7 mths
~ had her first swim at 7 mths
~ had her first 2 teeth at 7 mths. 3rd tooth came out at 8 mths.
~ can crawl much faster now. Think she prefers standing to crawling. She wasn't able to really crawl yet before she found that she could stand...
~ signed her first baby sign.....MILK...at 8 mths
~ had her first cold / runny nose / cough....at 8 mths plus
~ took her first couple of steps (while holding on to her Jumperoo) a few days ago. Right leg first *wobble wobble*, left leg next *wobble wobble*, right leg again * wobble wobble*, ok. sit down.
~ is 9 months old today!!
And as for me...over the past 34 weeks...I've grown older by 1 year, joined the 30s club, fell very ill on my 30th birthday (sianz).
After 34 weeks, I'm still breastfeeding (wow...never imagined being able to last this long...it IS tiring and logistically chellenging...), but I've also lost lots of weight. Not sure if it's due to the breastfeeding (yeah....) or having to run after an active gal or not having enough sleep.
Lunch time = nap time....zzzzzz.....
