So, it's a been a while since I've actually updated so here goes.
We recovered fairly well from the flood at work. 3 bridges in Ipswich are still closed for repairs so getting in/out is still rather difficult, but not terrible. Only 1 department is still displaced while we rebuild a few wet walls.
Since the flood, I've been moved to the new building and have begun "training" for a new position; System Administrator. This is opposed to my "Jr" System Administrator title that I've had for the last year while functioning as both a pc support tech and an administrator. I struggle with this new positiion a bit though. I really want, want it bad, I'm learning SO much, but it's a change. New location. Have to get used to being out in the open now with people around me. I'm also battling leaving PC Support because they are just so damn busy! 200+ tickets in just this month so far alone that they've had to deal with between the 2 of them. They're drowning and there's nothing I can do to help. I've tried to alleviate by taking an easy ticket here adn there for them, which I don't think I'm supposed to be doing. But I can't just sit there anymore adn watch them struggle. I also miss the guys, very much. We have formed a great friendship bond, and I'm going to miss seeing them 90% of my day now.
"The boys" came over last night for pizza and beer and it was great time. Steve go to witness first hand my real life "King of the Hill" routine with Rob and our neighbors when he first arrived. Standing in our yard, just chattin' it up. Altough last night none of them had a beer in their hands yet. Strange becuase they usually do. We setup a screen house in the backyard and some chairs outside. Put up a few tiki torches. Rob purchased a splitter and 100foot cable and brought a tv outside to watch the game, OUTSIDE. What a nut. Josh, STeve and I ended up in the screen house with my neighbor's oldest kid because the mosquitos got to be too much. The three of us just get laughing. I really do miss being in the pc support room. But alas, this will make our time hanging out all that more fun. :-)
I've got a slight hangover this morning. I was drinking beer last night, which I don't do much anymore beucase of the headache the next day. I'm typically a wine and mixed drinks person these days. But we had Sam. Summer in the fridge and it just tasted too good not to drink. Today is going to be weeding day and a quick trip to the mall. Other than that, I'm going to enjoy the weekend!
