We Would Take the Big Apple
Here I am at Chateau Riverside, in the house of the fairy godaunties, Ellen and Delia, and I have met their friend Mimi and I have eaten her buckwheat honey bread. It is 12:13 and I must awaken in fewer than 5 hours to begin the Dawn Watch in Central Park...
...I am going to stand in line ALL DAY and wait to be handed a ticket...
...to INTO THE WOODS...
...IN THE FRIKKIN PARK!!!
And Mir gets off work at 5 and will join us - and I'll see my MIR for the first time since P.E.I. in May!!! (The fact that I can see her twice in one year at all is EXCELLENT AND RARE!) Not to mention see her for the first time ever in NEW YORK, which we've both visited but never together and now she's LIVING HERE!!! And after that I'll spend the night at her sublet and all day Saturday with her, and I come back home on Saturday night and work on Sunday.
Today is the day that hasn't ended yet. It began at 4 AM with taking mama to the airport. And then a full day of work. And then the three hour Amtrak ride and I'm coming down from it all. But it's beautiful to be here again, where good things happen.
Now. I really must to bed. Or to couch, in this case, as Mimi is rightfully in the Romantic Guest Bedroom. And really, this is a very romantic couch in its way. It is of good colors and materials. It has cocooned many an artist in its depths. And tonight, me!
