Just another Wedn ... I mean, Monday. Strike that, reverse it.

It is nice having a short week your second week on the job. I have a lot to do as we have a project that has to be at 90% completion by Friday. Last Friday it was at 60%, and that was after weeks / months of work. Needless to say it will be a busy week. Unfortunately I am almost out of stuff to do as the vast majority of my work has reached the point where it is dependent on other people. Such is life.

I think that is enough complaining about work for now. I guess it would probably be good to discuss a bit of my weekend as it was a very nice one.

Friday - My first day of work which consisted of about 4 hours worth of meetings. Scott, the guy I replaced, left for Australia yesterday to study abroad for a quarter. So, we had his good bye meal at the Hofbrauhaus, and we all know that is good stuff. Late Friday evening Zavo made his way into Cincy for the weekend. Luckily he decided to take off Monday so that he would be able to stay for an extra 2 days.

Saturday - I can't remember right now what we did, but I do know that I began watching Season 2 of the West Wing. Zavo and I also ended up watching American Wedding as he had never seen it before. Good times were had by all.

Sunday - Because it was so stinkin' hot Zavo and I stayed in most of the day and watched the West Wing. In the evening we made our way downtown to see the fireworks on the river. They were absolutely amazing. They only lasted for 15 minutes, but I got my snow cone and astonishing fireworks. It made my day. :)

Monday - Zavo felt like going shopping, but by the time we got our asses into gear we made it to the mall 30 minutes before closing. We then ended up driving around a section of the 275 belt, got dunkin' donuts, and received a call asking if we wanted to see Superman with my family in an hour. I don't really know whether or not I think it was a good or great movie. It was definitely at least good, and although I thought Brandon Routh looked like a complete tool in photos and previews he now happens to be one of the most gorgeous men I have ever seen. He was, by far, reason enough to go see it. I think I would probably give the movie around a 3.7/5 mostly because I really didn't care for Kate Bosworth all that much. I also ended up driving back to my place marking the first time I had driven stick on a public road. I stalled twice practically back to back because I got nervous that someone was behind me. Still, it wasn't all that bad.

Tuesday - Zavo and I ended up watching even more West Wing, almost finishing Season 2 (I finished the season after he had left). We went out for food, Zavo left, and I was sad. Before that I took him to the roof to show him the fireworks. There weren't as many as usual seeing as it had been raining a significant portion of the day, but there were many being shot off at close range. This is the one time of year where I don't mind seeing people waste my tax money. Fireworks are great for everyone. :)

I think that is it for now. I thought this post would be a lot shorter, but now I have to get back to work. I will be back in Pittsburgh the evening of July 14 - July 16 (for the Vintage Grand Prix), at the very least. Until then it is work and ... work. Who knows. Maybe I will go with my dad to visit my grandparents this weekend or just spend it in Cincy. My mom and James are going to visit my grandfather today, so with my dad out of town this week and this weekend it is time for John and me to have a party.
