Vicki sat in the passenger seat of Coreen's car with her head back and eyes closed. Without opening her eyes, she reached up to remove her glasses and rub at eyes that felt like they were filled with dirt. Four hours of sleep might be enough for some people but not for Vicki Nelson. The quick shower and pot of coffee hadn't helped much.
Vicki felt that this was going to a very long day. They were going to the last known address of one Ricky Howell, neither she nor Coreen held any hope they would find him. Having not only Christina but a demon after him was more than enough to make anyone go into hiding.
When Vicki felt the car stop, she forced her eyes to open. Bright sunlight had her squinting at the old apartment building in front of her. Taking a deep breath she exited the car along with Coreen. There was a chill in the air that had Vicki zipping up her coat, but Corren didn't seem to notice in her corset and mini skirt.
Coreen looked at the building, seeing the broken windows and bricks, the trash in the few patches of grass. "And I thought my first apartment was a dump."
Vicki pushed Coreen inside and turned to the first apartment on the left, the one that Ricky rented. She pulled out her lock picks and went to work. "I'll look in here while you talk to the neighbors."
"Great." Coreen muttered, pulling a large can of mace out of her purse. "If you hear me scream call 911."
Vicki opened the door. "The faster you get started the faster you'll be done." She pushed the smaller woman towards the door in front of her and entered the apartment closing the door behind her.
Vicki looked around the small livingroom. It was just what you would expect for a young man starting out. An old couch and chair, most likely secondhand, took up most of the space. A small tv and radio sat on a wobbly table.
Walking into the kitchen she saw a trash can overflowing with pizza boxes, and fast food bags. A few beer cans were on the floor, having toppled from the top. Opening the refigerator and cabinets, she found almost no food. And found no clue where Ricky might be.
There was no mail, no address book, nothing to tell her who his friends were or if he even had any.
In the bedroom was a small unmade bed with clothes scattered on top and the floor. The closet held a few pairs of jeans and shirts but nothing else. Same for the bathroom.
Vicki was standing by the bed, trying to think what to do next when Coreen entered the room. "Did you find out anything?"
"Nothing. Either they don't know him or won't admit they do. I'm pretty sure some wouldn't even come to the door." Coreen picked up a sweatshirt from the bed, one smell had her wrinkling up her nose. "To bad we can't get some bloodhounds, this smell would take us right to him."
Vicki had a huge smile on her face. "Coreen you're a genuis!" She grabbed the sweatshirt and a grocery bag on the floor, putting the shirt inside and tieing the top closed.
"I am?" Coreen frowned at her. "You know where to get a bloodhound?"
Vicki pulled out her cell and dialed. "Close, but not quite." She listen to the message then smiled in Coreen's direction. "Hey Henry it's me. Listen do you know if your friend Jordan has plans tonight?"

"A werewolf?" Mike shouted at Vicki. "That's just great. A vampire and a werewolf. All we need is Frankenstein to have a full set of movie monsters."
"I'll ask Henry if he knows where ol' Frankie is at." Vicki smiled at the frown Mike sent her.
Before Mike could say anything, the door opened and Henry walked in with Jordan behind him. Vicki and Coreen both sucked in a breath at their first sight of the man. His hazel eyes missed nothing, his movements deliberate and calculated, just like a animal. His slow gait had you thinking of hot steamy sex. That and the tight jeans that left nothing to the imagination. The man was truely blessed.
Vicki cleared her throat and walked to him with her hand out. "Thanks for helping us Jordan. I'm Vicki Nelson."
Jordan sent her a killer smile and put his huge hand in hers. "I'm always happy to help a beauitful woman." He bent over to kiss the back of her hand and Vicki could swear he was sniffing her skin. A soft growl from Henry had him straightening up. He smiled at Henry. "Don't worry Henry, I would never take your woman from you." He grinned at Vicki. "I'll wait till she gets bored with you."
"She isn't his woman." Mike said from across the room. He was standing very straight, trying to add to his height, but Jordan still topped him by a good three inches.
Henry nodded at him. "Jordan, this is Detective Mike Celluci."
The two men briefly shook hands. Jordan stood back and looked Mike up and down. "You're right, Henry. He does look like him."
Mike frowned at Henry who had put one hand over his mouth to smother a laugh. "I look like who?"
"Dudley Do-Right. Put you in a mountie uniform and you're a dead ringer." Jordan didn't bother to hide his laugh from Mike. While Mike glared at them, Jordan approached Coreen and reached for her hand. "And you would be Coreen. A pleasure." He kissed her hand as well and Coreen shivered.
"Yes it is." Coreen all but purred. Jordan looked her up and down, his gaze full of lust. Coreen saw it and moved closer to him, brushing her body next to his. "For the record I'm single."
Jordan licked his lips. "That's good to know."
"Excuse me?" Vicki grabbed the bag with the sweatshirt inside. "Could we please get started here?" She held the bag out to Jordan. "If you get his scent will you be able to track him?"
"No problem. I'm a expert hunter and tracker. I'll find him no matter where he is." He opened the bag and took a deep breath. "Good God. You don't need me, this stench couldn't be hidden from anyone."
Henry took the bag and put it on top of the desk. "While Jordan is in his wolf form he will still be able to talk to us. Mentally. So don't freak out if you hear his voice in your head." Henry nodded at him. "Alright Jordan, do your thing."
Taking one last leer at Coreen, Jordan stepped back. In the blink of the eye Jordan was gone and in his place was a beautiful white timberwolf. And it was huge, weighing over 150 pounds and all muscle. The large wolf walked to Coreen and began to sniff around her knees, his nose edging under the mini skirt.
"Jordan." Henry called.
"What? I'm just trying to have a little fun. Lighten up Henry." Jordan replied to him.
Mike frowned at the large animal. "Just how do you plan to walk the streets with him like this? People will call animal control."
"Jordan is a pro at this." Henry said pulling something out of his pocket, he walked to Jordan and slipped something around his neck. When he straightened they saw a leesh held loosely in Henry's hand. "We're just walking our dog. Who happenes to be really big."
Vicki shook her head, hoping the people of Toronto were fooled. "Let's go then."
They walked out, Jordan leading the way.
For two hours they seemed to be going in circles, Jordan going in one direction only to turn back. Everytime it seemed he had the scent he lost it again.
Mike leaned a shoulder against the window of a bank watching while Jordan sniffed the ground. "Looks like Fido isn't having any luck."
Jordan turned his massive head toward Mike, growling low in his throat, teeth bared. "Henry if you want this guy out of the way let me know. I haven't killed anyone in awhile, I should make sure I remember how."
Mike having heard what Jordan said stood straight and moved his eyes away not wanting to press his luck. They continued to walk for another half hour when the thick fur on Jordan's back raised, his body tense. He began to move down the street towards some abandoned factories. They entered a alley and Jordan stopped in front of a door.
"In there." He said to them. As Vicki reached for the doorknob Jordan cried out. "Wait!" He sniffed the air some more, then he turned back into a human, removing the leash from his neck. "He isn't alone. Someone is in there with him." He turned to Henry. "It might be best if you and I went in. Detective Celluci can stay here with the women."
Before Vicki could protest the two men entered the building. Vicki paced back and forth, hating not knowing what was going on inside. When they had been gone for ten minutes Vicki decided to go in after them. She pulled out her asp and reached again for the door.
She opened it to see Jordan holding onto the shirt of Ricky Howell who struggeled to get away. Vicki was about to ask where Henry was when she saw him, he had something wrapped in his leather coat, holding it tightly. Vicki couldn't tell what it was until she walked to him and he pulled the coat away to show her.
Vicki gasped.
A beautiful baby girl smiled up at them, four small teeth shining brightly. They had not only found Ricky but they had found Amanda Davis, who had been missing since her mothers murder. Now they had to find out how she came to be with Ricky.
