Soundtrack Plus
So I've been really looking forward to the new BGM created for the Lagann-hen movie. Well, the official website just put up some short samples of the tracks, and... Maybe I'll like them better when I get to listen to the whole thing, but...
1. "Just stay quiet and get fired up ~ God in Heaven"
Just sounds like wailing to me. I hope the rest of the song is more epic.
2. "As it was promised, here's one"
Sounds like something I would hear on the Slayers OST. Not bad, just doesn't really remind me of Gurren Lagann so far, though I can hear the beginning of the "No helping it, I'll suck up for just one minute and twenty seconds" melody at the end... And I suppose it does fit the scene it was written for.
3. "My xxx is best in the universe"
ROW ROW FIGHT DA POWER with a Middle Eastern flair? Interesting, but uhh... It started to sound pretty kickass toward the end though. I'm going to assume the staff went "WTF Iwasaki" again and this is why they only used the second half of the track in the movie.
