Secret #142 in today's fandomsecrets post made me realize some things.

One, that I am an introvert. I used to think that I was avoidant, but have since come to understand that my problems aren't that extreme. It's not that I have social anxiety or am afraid of interacting with people. I can interact with people just fine, I just don't like

I'm an introvert (though I'm extroverted in a few select scenarios) as well so I can understand that feeling. And I don't think it's unusual or bad at all. :D In fact, this rather helped me understand my own introversion and feel happy with it (as cheesy as that is to say about some random website article):

And I agree that Simon is an introvert. I think someone at GAINAX was saying something about that, actually... I wish I could remember what they said exactly. I also agree with Simon being in many ways my ideal man. :D;; And wanting to find someone who appreciates my introversion instead of being vaguely offput by it.

Thanks for the article, it makes me happy to have read that and recognize a lot of what it says in my own life. I'll have to make my mom read that, because she keeps saying I should get therapy, even though I don't think there's anything wrong with me. It's just that I got really tired of always having to make friendly small talk with everyone I came across when I worked at her firm and she was embarrassed when some people asked her why I was so quiet. >.>

And I'd like to hear what they said about that if you could remember it. :)

No problem! It made me feel a little better about some of my more solitary attributes as well, so I figured I should share it with others who are the same way. I think it's definitely a good idea to show it to your mom because I don't think being introverted is a problem at all, and definitely not therapy-worthy. I get tired of making small talk as well and sometimes take steps to avoid it. It's just...hard to have a conversation about nothing in particular on a surface level, you know?

I'll try to remember it! If all else fails I have most of one of the Gurren Lagann panels taped, and I need to upload that footage and go through it anyway. I'm not sure if they said it during that panel, but regardless it'll be fun to go back through all of it. Whenever I do get to doing that (which might not be soon, but we'll see), I'll definitely share the footage with you. ♥

Seriously. I even do that with LJ comments. If I don't have anything to say, I just don't bother. >_>;

Haha, same here. Either that or I just reply with something that's noncommittal and won't spark further discussion such as "Yes, I agree." Only because it takes me all of two seconds to type something like that.
