So, just finished watching Heroes 2.03. Want to know what I thought the most exciting thing was? Peter getting a tattoo!! Want to know what the most distressing thing was? The fact that he can't keep them! :0 OMG!!

I was a complete flaily mass of fangirling glee at the amount of semi-nekkid!Peter we got this episode, all that shirtless-ness was  ( Read more... )

Not yet. But from what I know by now, I'd better buy the English DVD version and watch it then. I mean, can you believe it? Finally the Americans did something right and allowed the characters to talk in their corresponding native language, and what happens?? The stupid German TV stations DUB IT OVER WITH A GERMAN VOICE!!! Seriously, I could kill someone at the moment! I mean, it's usual for German TV stations to dub the TV shows. It's a little boring, though, because e.g. Danny Messer and Don Eppes have the same German voice, or Norrington and Giles from "Buffy", but since you don't know otherwise when you start watching TV as a child, you get used to it. And then, when you're good at school, and especially in Englisch, you can buy the original DVDs and live happily ever after. BUT they didn't do it on "Lost"! Even in German Jin and Sun were allowed to talk in Korean (I think) and they DIDN'T dub it. The subtitled it. As it should be. Why on Earth can't they do it with "Heroes", too?? I mean, there's a reason, why the characters talk in their own language. And it would have been fucking much better!

Seriously, I hate German TV!

That does sound really annoying! I prefer subtitles so much more, it just adds more to the program I feel, if it's not in your native language. Plus the fact that the words never match the lip movements aggrivates me something terrible XD

Good luck watching it your end! heh.

Believe me, it is. *nods*

Yeah, well, but it doesn't happen a lot over at yours, right? The dubbing thing, I mean. English is English - even though, I have to admit that I beg to differ sometimes. *lol* But still. We get EVERYTHING dubbed. That's why I'm glad that I'm pretty much able to read and understand English. I can get the originals (even if they're ridiculously expensive). But not all Germans can speak English. And I can tell you, the translators sometimes do a more than terrible job. It has gotten better since the Sixties, but just not good enough! I'm well aware that some word plays just can't be translated in their original sense - because in German it wouldn't be funny - but sometimes the translators just don't pay enough attention. That's... yeah, annoying.
