Okay flist, ya'll watched the Jonathan Ross show last night, right? And ya'll saw that trailer they played for Jack's return in Doctor Who, right?

Good. Because something about it has been bugging the buggery out of me the entire day (and until I get my hands on a d/l or YouTube of it, I'm relying on you flist to help me out here), so here's the ( Read more... )

Is it just me or did the Doctor see Jack running towards him, crying out his name AND HIT THE FUCKEN ACCELATE BUTTON OR WHAT!? I mean seriously. That's what it looked like. WHY WOULD HE DO SOMETHING LIKE THAT!? ::lip wibble:: DOESN'T HE LOVE JACK ANYMORE?

Yes, he totally did see Jack and get this ... hunted expression on his face. I don't think it's that he doesn't care for Jack; I really don't. But I definitely think there's something more going on there.

:( I'm searching for the trailer so I can watch it again, but even with the haunted expression- surely even just seeing Jack would have given him pause for thought? I mean, why try to get the hell out of Cardiff as fast as possible? There definitely is something more going on- I just hope we get an explaination with that too!

And another thing ;) ...didn't Jack disappear from inside Torchwood? I see the TW/DW teams have their continuity down to par, haha.

Externally speaking, I figure that a) they're really serious about making sure there is absolutely no connection between the worlds of DW and TW so as to make sure not to draw the kiddies into TW at all; b) they thought it looked cool. I'll be surprised if we get any sort of internal explanation for it, or why the Doctor was only there to fuel up for 20 seconds, where in "Boomtown" it was a couple of days.

I don't know how long it was, but it was at least long enough for them to all eat and have a good time at the restaurant.

Eee! So much love to you for the linkage XD

Yup, definitely seeing the 'haunted' look, but it is swiftly replaced by a grin as he pulls that lever and the Tardis starts up. :(

Well it certainly makes for a more dramatic entrance back into Doctor Who for Jack! heh. It could work to keep the kiddies away from Torchwood too, particularly so when we find that we'll have more of an old!Jack back as opposed to the Torchwood!Jack. I hear there'll be none of Jack's angst that was present in TW in DW whilst he's in it.

Alas methinks. I was looking forward to having the boys hash things out a bit first ;)

You're welcome!

Well, Martha's standing right there. The grin's probably fake, an effort to make sure that Martha doesn't notice anything odd going on.

I'm not ruling it out yet; I think there's still things to hash out without being super-angsty like in TW.

But super-angsty is too much fun! XD hehe. I do hope they have a good talk about things at the very least, maybe they can help heal each other's hurts.

A friend just pointed out to me that the Doctor's reaction may be down to the fact that Jack's now working for Torchwood? It's certainly plausable, and makes me feel a whole lot less distressed about things!
