Hikes along west entrance to Mt St Helen's National Park

After hiking the Harry's Ridge near Mt St Helen's back in June, we came back in September to explore the park around the mountain in a more touristy mode. On the way to the Johnston Observatory there are actually a number of pull-overs and hikes, that also tell the story of the mountain.

Я бы еще добавила, что это очень необычное место для нашего вечно-зеленого штата :)

Потому что там много жёлтого цвета вместо зелёного ?

Да, все выжжено, лес еще только начинает расти... Конечно, если чуть подальше отъехать, то можно увидеть посаженные после извержения вулкана леса, но у самой Елены очень необычно находиться... :)

Мне больше всего понравилась фотка под словами "The treat of this hike for me was the overlook", ну и озеро конечно !
