it is impossible to communicate here exactly what these two mean to me.
when i first met nico he didn't speak much english. lucky for me i love to learn new languages, especially the language of whatever country i am visiting at the time. thus, i began a number of conversations with nico. by the end of the trip he was able to laugh and call himself a translator thanks my persistent questions and conversations. i wish i could say the same for my spanish.
i was able to share my testimony with nico and he shared his with me.
he explained how God directed him to natalia and reminded me how God provides in his perfect time. nico is completely in love with natalia and it is quite moving to see the way he looks at her. after hearing him talk about her for two weeks i was excited to finally meet natalia. she is completely adorable and just as sweet. she speaks as much english as i speak spanish but if there is one thing i've learned on these trips it's that God works past the language barriers. words are rarely the most important aspect of communication. natalia is very dear to me and i believe she shares this same love and appreciation.
after our last big dinner in buenos aires the team took a walk to the
puente de la mujer. it was well after midnight when we left the restaurant. as we walked along, nico shared that this is the same place he proposed to natalia. with his soul glowing, he explained the story of how he got down on one knee. when we reached the bridge nico found the exact spot where he proposed. the same spot you see them standing in the photo above.
after i took this photo nico asked to take a picture of me in the same spot. he said it would be my last photo as a "single woman"...that after he took the picture he and natalia would pray for me and that i would no longer worry about my future husband. all i need to do is walk hand in hand with Jesus, live each day by faith and God will provide.
i cried in their arms as they prayed over me.
they will be married december 12th. :)
