I have a feeling this entry may run a bit long, so enter at your own risk!
What a week it has been here at the OU. Certainly unlike any week I have had before. I feel like I am finally experiencing this college life that everyone speaks so highly of. One of my resolutions for the new year and the new semester was to stop working so much and so hard and try to enjoy myself. To try to mend broken friendships, reconnect with people, make new friends, enjoy the time I have. So far, so good...
This weekend brought lots of unexpected fun, starting friday evening. Still not having any plans for the night by dinner time Friday I was becoming a bit anxious about how I would make my first weekend off in quite some time worthwhile. After shopping for Katie's birthday present at lenox the girls and I headed to the basketball where Oglethorpe (ready for this one...) actually won! After the game was a impromptu gathering of sorts in rockin' Scmidt 13. There was quite a few people, music, some alcohol and a whole lot of fun. All of this resulting in a 3:30am trip to waffle house followed by 5 people sleeping in my bed, myself included. Interesting to say the least...
Slept in Saturday as Friday was a bit of a late night. Watched pulp fiction with the roomies and various other people as they came and went. Then spent most of the night cleaning my desk and folding some laundry. Went to sleep pretty early since I had to work in the morning. Nothing terribly exciting to report.
Sunday morning was work, nothing new there. I was an hour late, oops. Thats about all. After work met up with alan to head down to oglethorpe and start preparations for Katie's birthday party. First though, we met his grandparents at the varisty junior for dinner. Then off to school where, along with a minor startbucks detour, we moved the TV and various other pieces of furniture, hung lights, got music going and then sat around playing korean jacks and waiting for the party to get started. And get started it did. I must say that we threw a pretty good party. The turn out was awesome and people were mingling and having a good time well into the night. Some highlights were several spilled drinks, beau breaking the futon, sarah with the rams head, tequila and tabasco, biting anne's bosom, hook ups, hook ups, hook ups, javi sleeping sitting up on the couch, screwdrivers on the futon, and javi, and the pillow....oy. What a night. Went to be around 8am, woke up around 11:30.
