One more quiz and a 50 ? multiple choice final and I will have completed my first semester in 2 years. With 2 classes! W00t! I have to remember the summer classes are a lot of work though but it's def the way to go. Now if only I could afford to pay fall tuition. I could have, but thanks to a drunk driver, I have to post-pone school for awhile.
One July 1st about 3pm (remember, the 1st was on a SUNDAY), a drunk driver TOTALED my PARKED camry. Continued on to total the camry parked in front of me (*starts to wonder if he had a thing against camrys*). I heard he hit another parked car in the subdivision and a bunch of mailboxes. So around 4:30, I'm heading out to my car to go to work, and I see cops surrounding my car. I see the car in front of it, see that it's all smashed up. All I can see from my car from the distance and the cops blocking my car is that my mirror was knocked off. I call Dad up in tears because I was in love with my '91 camry. (sure it was getting old and rusty but it was my first car that i held on to for 5 years to the month!) It was starting to suck going without a car of my own. Dad let me borrow his Acura until we found a new car. I wasn't expecting to get a new car until Dad came back from vacation so I was just like "whatever. I have a car for 3 weeks" (Sasha's taking her drivers test on Friday and the Acura is going to her until she buys her car)
On the 4th, I stop by Dad's with my friend Travis before going hiking at Allerton. Dad's home and he tells me that he's found some cars that I might like. A 2000 Saab 93 and a 1995 BMW 318ti. After Dad toyed around with both cars for a few hours, he told me I should get the beemer. I rolled my eyes. I hadn't even seen the inside of the beemer yet and I was about to put myself into debt for the next year and half over a car I haven't even seen yet? It's bad enough I let Dad talk me into buying it without me actually driving it first. But whatever.
Luckily the drunk driver had some good insurance and gave Dad more than what he paid for the car 5 years ago. Dad let me have $1000 of it for the down payment on my car and the rest will be me making weekly payments on it. So I've been cruising around town in a '95 318 :) I love it except for the fact that its a 2 door, but oh well. And it's a NICE UPGRADE from my camry. (which, I'm actually getting tired of people badmouthing that car.)
Well now that I have a car, John's car is currently not going anywhere until my Dad comes back from vacation and he can take a look at it. So I've been running my sister and my boyfriend to work all week, really adding up the miles to my car. *hiss* Oh well, it's a fun car to drive.
