Damn Insurance...

Jan 23, 2010 05:22

Couldn't have picked a worse time to implement our insurance plan lol. I was expecting 1500 this week, of which I negotiated with bill would all be MINE MINE MINE ENTIRELY MINE NOT TOUCHED BY HIM.

Considering the last 12 paychecks... (6 of which were supposed to be MINE) went to his stupid mortgage (which i'd like to point out again wouldn't be behind so bad if he had listened to me about Schneider in the first place) he had to shutup and give it to me. He has NO excuse, the mortgage is caught up. And last week he was only supposed to take 1200 and he took 1500, and I was so not amused. I had already won 4 auctions with that money that was supposed to be there, so they got paid a week late and THEY were not amused.

So anyway I had to negotiate a new deal with cat lady for our Siamese, now we pick up on March 13th (kittahs for mah birthday!). Once that was done and we figured out that next weeks check can cover the mortgage for the 1st I was free to do some pc shopping. I bought the case, my nzxt temp monitor, and the motherboard online because they were not locally available. I went with a light Lian Li case its very airey, I expect it will do well if it can keep the cats hair out of it. I am going ot install two more fans in the top though, can never have enough fans, and if I cannot keep the CPU @ 60 max then I will drill holes in the side and put a fan there. I bought these last week though. To arrive when we got home so then I could begin.

Today we got out the house around 12 PM, went to Chilis for lunch as we hadn't eaten since Wednesday lol. I had a pina colada and got tipsy offa it... I am such a light drinker that I can get drunk off meat cooked in alcohol lol. Put it this way, that Pina Colada was my 6th drink ever in my life and I am 26 (previous drinks include white wine when i was a kid (blech), a bloody mary (omg that was nasty), a strawberry dacquri thing we bought at walmart (so/so), a pina colada made by bill (way too much liquor), and a carriben colada made at Bennigans which was god in a cup...).

Then we got to go shopping, walking around Frys kinda drunk looking for computer parts is fun! Especially we aren't talking a run of the mill easy build we are talking a pissy gaming machine with very specific requirements. I can't buy just ANY power supply you know. Of course, being drunk all shiney things amused me and there are so many shiney things in a Frys store. (I think they need to add a food court like at Ikea).

So anyway I snagged everything needed to make the pc run, not my preferred builod but I can add the other parts as I get extra dough. Total spent? 1255, which was 300 over budget.

I got:

A 700 watt PSU that at the moment I cannot remember whom it was, it was either an Acer, Asus, or Actor. The key point was that it was over 500 watts. That it had 4x pci express 6 pin connectors, and it was ok for ATX(i7). And it does. I was sad to see they were out o f the 99 dollar thermaltake ones I came for but oh well this one is just as nice actually nicer... and only 19 more.

A GTX260, this one was open box but it looked good and so I got it. 213 bucks.

12 gigs ram, originally went in for 6 gigs (was planning to get another 6 later when had more money but they were having and awesome deal) I snagged 12 gigs of 1600 mhz ram for 250.00 My only issue is its blue and my case theme is red/black.

A 2 GB Hitachi HD - 7200/32MB its a good drive came highly recommended, more so then the seagate I originally wanted, they apparently been having alot of issues with the 7200/32 seagate 1.5.

A I7 920 processor, hopefully this will be a charm gem overclocker.

A wireless card, this one is very nice.

A Lian Li Lanacool K58 Dragon Case.

A P6TD motherboad by ASUS

Total cost: 1600.

In all my fun drunken shopping though I forgot a damn DVD drive! Bah, so now its all together and I cant do anything till tommorrow when I go buy a damn drive >.> but it did post correctly in startup so I am hoping its all good.

I still have some cable routing to do, before I can start using it for real.

Things left to buy:

1 DVD RW with Lightscribe
1 BluRay Writer
1 x All in One Card Reader (hopefully with mic/headphone jack)
1 more GTX260
1 more 2 TB HD
1 Black Edition HD
2 new case fans
Replace stock case fans
Glowing Red leds.

Dude they had a steam washer there for 500... thats like nutty low!
