[ For a while now Freud has been spending his time feeding his interest in drones, now that he's a bit better aquainted with this place. Engaging in conversation with them, asking them personal questions like theres no tomorrow, tripping them if one so happens to walk by (accidentally of course), etc etc. Anything to tip him off that there is ( Read more... )

A lot of the drones don't have personalities. It's as if they're brainwashed into constantly smiling and pretending that Mayfield is an idyllic town which is probably the entire point, or it may just be an inhumane experiment of sorts.

Some people have mentioned going home while they were drones, but I think others just turn...mindless. I don't know how long it lasts, but a few people have mentioned being droned for a week. You get droned whenever you disregard certain rules they've set: not attending school, not showing up to work, and the like. Considering Elizabeth didn't do anything that went against whatever tyrant rules over Mayfield, I think dronings are given out as reminders to behave, kind of like the weird events that supposedly happen once or twice every month.

I don't think the policemen or the milkmen are drones but I think it would be best to avoid them at all costs. I've been told they have a nasty habit of antagonizing, brainwashing, and murdering people.

This towns inability to be anything but subtle with it's actions is really starting to get annoying. Even more for it's reasons. I can't make what's what with this, since no one can ever be sure about anything here.

Yeah, they don't seem to be in on it but-- wait. What about Elizabeth?

If you're going to try to search for answers, just be careful. Whoever is behind this won't like anyone snooping around too much.

She just recently returned to...well, being Elizabeth. She was droned for a week.

Of course.

You said she hadn't done anything to provoke them. Hmph. Not too shaken up or anything, right?

Promise you won't do anything too reckless.

[there's a considerate pause before she responds, meekly:] N-no, not anymore. It was creepy, to say the least. She doesn't seem to want to talk about it, though. It's a delicate subject.

Don't need to promise. I'm just going to have nice conversations with them.

It's understandable. Hopefully she'll feel better by the time I ask her about it. In the mean time, check up on her every once in awhile, will you?

[OBLIGATORY SIGH.] If you insist, then I guess I can't stop you.

You should wait a bit before asking her. I wouldn't want her to get upset. But we have the same job, so checking up on her isn't a problem at all.
