[ For a while now Freud has been spending his time feeding his interest in drones, now that he's a bit better aquainted with this place. Engaging in conversation with them, asking them personal questions like theres no tomorrow, tripping them if one so happens to walk by (accidentally of course), etc etc. Anything to tip him off that there is ( Read more... )

The people I've known who got droned usually say that they don't remember what they did. It's like their mind shuts off.

It seems like that way when it comes to the shorter ones. There's no possible way I can think of for Mayfield to be able to do it, but they apparently can.

I thought that I heard someone suggesting that these weren't our real bodies - that our souls only had been taken here, or something. Maybe they can do something to...stop our souls.

That is an interesting idea. It wouldn't make sense to be able to go home for awhile while still being able to be droned here.

How they'd be able to do it, though..

How do they do anything? [Hrmm.] How long have you been here, sir?

Almost a month, a little bit less. Not as long as others as I've heard.

Have you heard the Wesport message from Richard Grey?

It isn't about the drones, specifically, but it does have to do with Mayfield.

[You seem interested in that sort of stuff.]

I haven't. Though I think I'd like to. Could you elaborate, please?

I wrote down it when I woke up. It was almost like a dream - we'd been stuck in Westport, and then suddenly we were back here.

[Shuffling of papers. He recites the message over the phone. And then adds, as an afterthought.]

...I'm Med'an.

[He listens carefully the entire time. The sound of shaping the wood ceases.]

Freud. Thank you, Med'an. Even if it gave more questions to the pile, that was... enlightening.

I'd heard of the Westport thing but I only know that it was morbid and happened not to long ago.

You're welcome. The more people who know about it, the better, I think.

I was in Wesport when we were trapped there. The only living people seemed to be men in heavy suits, and they tried to attack us wherever we went...

[Pause.]

But it was better than when we went to to Maipole or Maipoleski place....
