[ After the surgery-- with all misgivings of the situation set aside so that she could assist Winry properly; in the end the patient was still a patient-- and the patient is left to sleep on his own, it's probably a good time for the two women to have a break before telling the others. Raine at least, is pretty tired. ]

[Winry, covered in splotches of blood from the surgery, heads toward a sink. Her apron may be a lost cause, but at least she can clean her hands and arms. She turns the faucet on and puts her bloody, gloved hands under the stream of water.]

Not at all. I'm certainly impressed. [Raine didn't get nearly as splotched as Winry, but being close to any situation like that would require a good washing, especially when assisting with the cleanup.]

[She smiles, but it's a little shaky. She's still a little disturbed from Legato's minimal reaction to the pain. She was used to screaming, adult men crying, and shouts loud enough to fill a room. Yet Legato had done none of those, and in all honesty it was... creepy.]

Usually he doesn't look as... soulless. He came in looking like he hasn't eaten or slept very well. I guess you can say he's normally a bit creepy, but mostly just very reserved?

[Winry discards the gloves in a trash bin.]

I wasn't sure what to expect, honestly. I suppose the most we can hope for is that he was too distracted by the surgery itself to notice any wariness on our parts.

Are you sure? I'd only ask you to be around for his clinic stay, because the routine maintenance will be done at the smithy.

Ah, would it? [Hmm. It might seem strange that she's there--but under the circumstances, he probably wouldn't know much better...] Perhaps we should play those by ear, then, depending on how his stay goes. The offer is still open, in any case.

Ed already demanded that he be present for any future meetings with Legato that are scheduled. I wouldn't mind your company while I check up on him here though.
