Read on...I swear I am going somewhere with this...

It’s the simple things! The lil moment that happens in a blink of an eye.
The other day while stopped at a convenience store one occurred. I decided to stay behind while he ran in so as he steps out of the car he says. “Lock the doors. I don’t want anyone stealing you.”

Other times it’s as simple as the notes he leaves such as this one from Friday:
“love you baby, have a good day !”
He places it so it’s the first thing I see when I open the laptop. Huge red letters. Simple, but highly effective.

I compare this to the blurb he read to me the other day on differences in males and females. According to this article females score their partners on the point system like this:
dozen roses = 1point
one rose = 1point
In other words, each kind or thoughtful occurrence is equivalent regardless of how big or small it is. Whereas males don’t count the small things, only big count!

Now, on my end this is true for the most part. When considering my fave christmas gifts I first think of the year he bought me these lil hair jewels. That year we were slap broke and those jewels were perfect for me. It just meant the world to me! I think of those lil hair jewels over the beautiful, expensive butterfly necklace he bought me just two years ago. Also a meaningful gift as his reasoning for spending hundreds on this necklace was so that I could have a “nice” one to wear! OMG! how thoughtful and sweet. And I love it and incidentally, wear it lots!

Now, Dan on the other hand, swears it's the lil things as well as the big things. I tend to think its more towards the big things. He’s the one with all the big toys, after all!

In closing of this ponder…truly regardless of male vs females cuz its just about roles in a relationship or even just personal preferences for that matter. So, I pose to those that have read this lengthy ramble…which is it for you? Does it happen in the mere structure of a sentence or after your loved one has spent all afternoon doing something special for you?
