Holy crap my friends are awesome!
So yesterday I started my Kickstart project. It can be found here, of course:

Much more info can be found there but there are several rewards for backing the album including a reserved copy, an autographed copy, a book, etc.
So I put it up at around 1am this morning. And when I woke up at around 10am, it already had two backers and was up to $115 of its’ $500 goal.
!!!!!!!!!
It could be a fluke, one of those “people get really excited right at the outset but later the support peters out”, or it could be a really awesome opportunity.
I’ve been jazzed all day. COMPLETELY excited beyond all reason. Last night I was a little worried. Because even though I only set $500 as a goal and I have 90 days to raise it, it’s possible that I wouldn’t raise the whole thing. And if I don’t raise at LEAST $500, I won’t get ANYTHING. The nice thing is that I can raise MORE than my goal. I just can’t raise LESS than my goal. The goal, $500, will cover some basic decent recording equipment an the cost of ordering the minimum number of CD’s from the printer that I’m looking at working with. The more we raise, the better the quality will be on the CD’s. We’ll be able to market them a little bit better too.
And then we’ll be able to sell them, and I’ll be able to feed my fiance (he’s a full time student for the next few months.
)
At any rate, I think raising a quarter of the goal in the first less-than-24-hours is pretty damned cool.
Oh, and I DEFINITELY owe Teresa a house concert.
