Yep it was six years ago that halfbloodme  and I both joined LJ.

Happy LJ-versary sis :D.

And thank you to all of you who have made my time here, so far, absolutely brilliant! Especially madzilla who introduced me to LJ in the first place.

When I get a new mobile and get internet access on it I'll possibly sign up to Twitter :D. I like the idea of twittering on the go rather than just the evenings.

Not sure when that will be because I have to save up to go back to New Zealand to see Simon and Jo next Christmas but if my current phone has any say in the matter it might be sooner than I hope or expect :(.

Still looking at the Nokia? I saw they have a slightly smaller version of the same one (is it the N97? *clueless*) out now.

Sam got an awesome new Samsung touch screen for free when he changed his contract. S'very nice.

Yep :D. still looking at the Nokia and yeah I think it was the N97. Last I checked though it was still about £400 - £500 quid and on top of a couple of grand needed for NZ at Christmas it's a luxury I can't really afford at the moment.

Ok so I could get a cheaper phone now and get the Nokia later but if I really want to get the Nokia, which I do, I don't see the point of shelling out for a temporary one now, as it still won't be that cheap, and still shell out £400 odd next year too. My current phone has lasted me between 5 and 8 years odd (can't remember exactly when I got it) fine up until recently. I'm not wanting to just follow fashion trends and have the latest model. I want one I like and which will last me a long time.

Agreed. I doubt, unless it breaks, I'll change mine for a very long time.

You're not due a contract upgrade or anything? Mine doesn't end until November (only notable because I want to cancel it). Or if you're on PAYG, you could go onto contract and get a cheaper/free phone?

Wednesday at the AC still OK? Also, at some point we still need to watch Ratatouille and Wall-E (because I firmly believe no one should go through life without watching Wall-E).

At the moment yes Wednesday is still ok. To be honest it will depend on the weather. If it's bad, with my balance, I don't think it'll be a good idea to come up but I'll see. I'll text you Weds during the day to let you know. Sorry I can't be more specific at the moment.

And nope I'm on PAYG at the moment. Might consider going on a 24 month contract to get the phone free but I'm not sure because of the monthly cost. At the moment I get through about £20 of credit in about 2 - 4 months because I mainly text rather than call. Is paying £70 per month really worth it just for the phone? I'd pay the phone off in about six months from when I bought it and then for the remaining 18 I'd be paying well over the odds I think. I know I'd use it a bit more per month by using the net but I doubt I'd text or call much more than I do already so I think I'd still be paying over the odds.

No prob! If it's vile out I probably wouldn't want to come either.

Well, there are blue tariffs for less than £70 - cheapest seems to be £42, but that's still quite a lot per month. At least JT are doing the data bolt-ons now and have also lowered their prices for data to match Sure's - well, unless you're on PAYG.

Hmm, tricky one! Depends on whether you want to stay on PAYG or not - if you're planning on waiting anyway, you could go on a cheaper tariff with a much smaller monthly charge and buy the handset at a reduced cost...
