When I went to see my grandma last Wednesday she told me take all her boxes of old photographs and sort through them, as well as make copies and get interested parties their photographs. A daunting task to be sure. They are great fun to go through though. So far on my first pass through I'm seeing the scope and making a general mental file of who's who, and also setting aside one to make scans of for myself. I've stayed up entirely too late, the plan was to just go through a box, maybe two, and then bed. Three and a half boxes later my eyes are about to rebel and my brain hurts, time for bed. But I have to share a little bit of my favorite photo I found, I'll put a scan up later when I can. I found a photo printed as a postcard of Thomas Sullivan Sr with a great big grin and a caption below that reads "Reports that I would not leave the hospital alive were greatly exagerated." I laughed for awhile after I found that one, it's making me laugh again to type about it. I now know where grandpa Tom's sense of humor came from.
I'm saving the box of my grandpa's old photos for last, I skimmed through them at my grandma's house and I think I'm going to be making a copy of most of them.
