Tokyo Dome 7/24 con report

Jul 25, 2010 11:52

Back by demand!  After writing about my Osaka cons, a couple fans asked me to write more fan repo.  Thanks for your comments guys!

Same thing as last time:
WARNING: These comments are just things I happen to remember. I didn't take any notes, so i don't remember everything. And I tried to type as fast as I could on a friend's chinese comp so there are a lot of typos. SORRY!

WARNING 2: Also, a lot of what I wrote is based on my thoughts. Meaning, what I write could hurt people's feelings. If you are worried that may happen, please do not proceed.

WARNING 3: Contained within this report is a lot of fangirling. It may or may not make sense.

So I took the night bus from Kyoto to Tokyo in which I didn't sleep very well.  And then so I was really out of it.  After the con, I had to hurry to catch the bus, and on the bus, too exhausted to write down my thoughts on paper.  So this report is written 12 hours after the con when I got back to Kyoto and typed it out.  Went to sleep and then woke up again to write down all that I could remember.

Enjoy!!

outside venue

taken really hastily because my japanese friend told me not to because if the name on the ticket is hers and if i get caught, she in the one who gets in trouble.  so when she wasn't looking i took a picture.  lol  my view.

taken really hastily again.  was on the move to try to beat the crowd.  haha.

STAARTTTTT!

to be honest, don't remember a lot of stuff.

came out with N.M.P from the top of the dome. couldn't see a thing. and then they slowly moved down to the top of the stack of blocks. and it's true, they weren't able to kick down the blocks anymore. cuz before, they would kick it down and emerge from the back.

for the most part, the stage was relatively the same except for that KAT-TUN part. i would like to say i sat mostly in front of the A, so everything I saw was relatively at an angle. after fall down, they continue on with the set list that seemed mostly of songs that weren't new. stage slowly song after song advanced forward. wearing the same clothes as they did for opening in osaka. usually koki was the first to take off his jacket, but this time he was last?

middle drum/dance section was kinda weird. dont know the purpose of it. felt .. super oriental

kame's solo was tough to understand. well, tough as in he kept going back and forth. first sweet, then long section in between when he is carried in a coffin, and then the magic show during which he changes into lost my way clothes. and performs lost my way from the dance segment. kinda disappointed because i really like that solo. goes back to sweet for one line before finishing up the rest of last my way.

during junior segment, one of the juniors fell down in the hole. but he was okay and came back at the end of their performance. kame helped him come out and kame hadn't even changed yet, so the rest of KT had to stall time for kame to change.

bokura no machi de in ballad version is really beautiful. such confusion and complication with these lyrics. my friend sitting next to me started to sniffle because of the lyrics.

there were actually less cars goes around i thought that usually. the people in the arena in the back hardly saw KAT-TUN. In fact, the cars didn't really even reach them.

maru's clinic's beatbox lasted longer than usual. he said KAT-TUN sukidesuka twice with his own voice without mic. i think his probably messed up his throat after that.

maru spent a lot of time in front of gate 24. i sat gate 22.

maru's solo was good, but i still like answer better. couldn't really see from that far. don't remember what effects he had. for sure felt like the two solos songs before i hadn't really known.

kame had drum solo again. after that was the drum/dance section

koki's make you wet chapter 2 is sooooo dirty! i mean, there were for sure kids there! he shouldn't be making such explicate dance moves. dirty dirty boy! haha. started off his solo with a tease and lifting his shirt. dance was reallllly good though

maru's towards the end was doing flips! i dont think we see him do flips very often.. but very good!

ueda's solo was complicated. something about sweets, and being happy for who you work for, and eating sweets. haha. i don't really understand what he wanted to convey. danced with a whole buncha girls. 4 to be exact and a sofa. so are they working for him and in charge of please him? didn't like it as much though before his voice is tweaked really high. and for sure lipsynched. couldn't really look at what he was doing because trying to just undersatnd the lyrics.

junno's solo was just junno's solo again. fun as always and finally sang oh yeah where it was supposed to be. always go confused at what he was trying to make us sing in osaka because wasn't familiar with that song at the time.

couldn't see maru's clothes very well. oh, maru came out in the encore on a white horse. wore black suit with white gloves, of which he took off for the second song of the encore.

there was a stage rising glider type of thing. kame stood in it first then koki. koki was doing the bendy-peace sign. and gawd his eyes smiles and winks. Ah! kame winked too. forgot when though.

smile: lalalaed with everyone, arena, then stands, then everyone then with KAT-TUN again.

surprisingly couldn't cry when promise song came out. when i went to karaoke on friday, i had such trouble even trying to hold own past the first chorus. but no matter how hard i tried, i just couldn't force any tears. it was more of having wet eyes. maybe because they were so far away and didn't feel the connection i did in osaka. but for sure the effects are worth it.

oh during kame's solo he used the fire they used for rescue.

rescue sound effects are stilllll weird with the fire. still do't know why. maru's still amazing with singing jin's parts. haha

new songs were sung in a row and i felt that....they weren't as good as the other songs. maybe because once again didn't have the connection i felt with KAT-TUN back in osaka. so i thus realized, i like it better when the venue is a lot smaller. so what if there are more fireworks, more things that happen, more flying stuff. yeah, i'm okay without it. to be just closer to them is all that really matters for me.

came out for second encore. and sang going. ueda was actually really....happy today and went out to the stands and shook hands with people. he doesn't usually do this. usually he is aloof and doesn't reply no matter how hard you scream and yell

was offered tickets by a girl that we met in osaka. she told me she had an extra ticket and asked if i wanted it. but then, i decided to come back and study. it's okay though because i know this won't be my last time seeing KAT-TUN. i believe we will meet again.

during MC first came out talking about the strap. and then he kept shaking and hsaking it. kame. and it was on his waist and when camera man zoomed in, you know. haha. he attached a feather o it on the bottom.

maru wan't wearing the same clothes are he was during osaka cms.

talked about juniors and how they are going to release their first photobook.

no guest.

since first people couldn't see, the moved to the moving stage on the bottom. those girls were happy. XD

--- break---
at the end of the con (before the encore), kame was the only one who came out and thanked us for all the support. they disappeared before a silhouette and moved up to about half of the the stage and we could still see that it was them because they were still waving at us. then the lights dimmed and we cheered for encore. encore wait this time around was a lot longer than expected. that was because in addition to changing, they had to get onto their horses. order was koi, maru, kame, and then the other two (sorry i didn't really focus on the other two! >.<)

kame took off his shirt before the drum solo, in which during the osaka cons, he didn't. he must've been really happen since actually lately he hasn't taken off his shirt. then we did the usually "oi!, oi!" and he didn't even need to lead it. haha. since a lot of fans in general go to multiple cons, we know what's going on already. haha.

during the drum/dance section, ueda was strung on a piece of wire and floated from the right side to the left side of the stadium and then from the left and back to the right and let go of this beautiful golden scroll! i was thinking maybe the crowd was able to get a piece of it, but then saw staff san collect it later.

kame later also used this wire and floated with a wire attached at this waist so he could do flips and turns. i bet it was pretty dizzy after doing all that! but then he even got off the wires, and then rushed over to the rest of the group members and continued singing.

kame threw the towel out again during the second encore into gate 24 section!! GAHHH GAH GAH GAH. in osaka, he threw it out during smile and me and of course i got trampled since there were no seats and everyone was free to move. as in tokyo dome, there are seats and thus barriers and i think if he had threw it to me then, i would i have probably gotten the towel.
(speaking of which, after a month of trying to pretend not to know, my friend, after much reminding, gave me a piece of that kame towel. i had to bug her about it 3 times before she gave it to me. and then when she did, it's this little piece the size of my thumbnail (not my picture, but yes, my thumb's nail). she gave the fan she just met who was next to her that day even more and to me, a FRIEND who went with her to 4/5 cons in oasaka, who, if it werent for my uchiwa that said it's my birthday, and my screaming, kame wouldn't have noticed, she gave me this tiny thing. um yeah. i'm pretty bitter about that.

during the MC, they kept bagging on Junno for something. i can't remember what is was. they also mentioned how koki's hair is now longer and then it fits his style, age better now. i don't think maru talked as much compared to osaka. as in, he didn't have to act as a "host" to lead the conversation on. i was just really tired (took the night bus from kyoto to tokyo on which i hardly slept) so i just kept nodding off during MC. SORRY!!!

during the 1st encore, after they sang smile, and then make us say, we are "KAT-TUN", they asked her to join hands with other people, friend or people we don't know. it was such a touching moment. i just don't know why i couldn't....cry last night. it may be the last time i see them, but i just couldn't cry. hrm.

during the reviews of all the past pvs, as expected, they tried to cut out Jin. each member that their own parts where they were singing during the pvs, except Jin. and during the choruses where there had to be Jin, they clips it so fast, that unless you memorized where Jin was standing, your eyes wouldn't glimpse fast enough to locate him. before the con, i saw a couple Jin uchiwas, and my japanese friend turned to me and said that it is rather inappropriate for them to bring that uchiwa. KAT-TUN here is trying to move on with their lives without Jin, and here she is trying to remind them of what they don't have anymore. as a Jin fan, i don't really agree with what she said. i mean, sure, i didn't bring my uchiwa, but i was still wearing a necklace with an A on it for Akanishi. and it wasn't to show them what they are missing, but to tell them that regardless of 5 or 6, i will still love and support KAT-TUN, as I was yesterday. Jin will always be in my heart and apart of KAT-TUN. so yeah.

i remember there was a song towards the end that kame started singing the harmony to, and it was a part that usually nobody sings the harmony. so i mean, i was pretty happy to know that 1) they were singing live (even JUNNO!! :DDDD), 2) kame is such a good singer that he can carry the harmony when nobody has ever sang it before.

during rescue, in which nakamaru actually sings live, towards the end, i felt his voice was a little strained because during the second "I don't want to cry alone" that he sings, (it's pretty high), might've sounded a little cracked.

during lips, surprisingly they still didn't whip out the fog coming out of the mic stand. they did in mie, but didn't in osaka and i thought maybe it was just because in osaka, they didn't have the appropriate space or commodities needed to make the smoke come out (it was held in a very large empty display hall where a lot of things couldn't happen). but this time for lips, they just walked around the sides of the stage towards the center. too bad they didn't cuz during Mie, it looked like they had so much fun!

really want to go to tonight's concert, but i must face reality. there is an osaka matsuri tonight, and more so than anything, i just want to go to osaka and check out the johnny's store. according to my friend, it seems that there might be 6 versions of the special strap. one for each johnny's store (tokyo, osaka, nagoya and fukuoka) and then one for tokyo dome and one for kyocera dome. each being at 2000, i felt just buying the two tokyo ones was already enough. but my friend wasn't sure if there is more than one for the johnny's store so actually tempted to go see if there is actually one for each shop. haha. collect all i can.. 12000 yen.. YIKES!

i asked a couple of my KAT-TUN friends if they were planning on showing their support for KAT-TUN by buying real face, and it seems that they aren't that interested.... seeing as to how we already have copies. but then i think i'd still want to buy real face again. maybe i'll sell it at book off later or something. haha.

Okay thanks for reading.  I'm going to go study for my finals now.  T_T  Still thinking about the Tokyo Dome con tonight.  Could still make it....  >.<
