The Way That We Love - a B/A fanmix
This has been many months in the making as life caused detours and pit stops many times. There is no rhyme or reason to this mix. Generally I like songs that relate to a ship's or character's "story" exactly from beginning to end and not all of these songs do. Some of them only relate by a paragraph or so. Even still, they make me think of my otp: Buffy & Angel.
All the artwork are either manipulations or blends by myself. They do not neccessarily relate to the song they accompany. I made the cover and liked the manip/color scheme/style and decided to make an entirely matching set. I tried my best though some were quite hard and I'm not a master manipper.
There is no particular reason the songs are in the order they are except for the last song which feels more upbeat and hopeful than the rest of the tracks so I wanted to end on it. Most of the songs are angsty/break-up songs and it's how I imagine B/A felt as they separated and tried to move on with their lives without one another. The mix is named from a line in the Mika song featured on the mix which states "This is the way that we love, like it's forever" which made me think of "Forever. That's the whole point." so I couldn't resist.

This song is about a lovesick vampire (according to the band) and I tend to hear it from the pov of Angelus.

With mentioning 7 years and BtVS airing 7 years, it's a nice connection. Also, it emphasizes the things Buffy mentions in the last season about how she still loves Angel.

I've always loved this song. It's just so pretty and I think that even though Angel knew it'd hurt he wanted Buffy to be happy and have love.

This was the first track I put on the mix because of the lines below. It really sounded like something Angel would've said as he left Sunnydale.
